Perrin Filter

I recently installed my Perrin filter after reading the glowing reviews on the forum.

- Noticed right away the filter had more oil than Saudi Arabia. Had to use shop towels to "dab" some of that oil away.

-Installation was a ****ing *****. You have two hose clamps. One for the inner filter mesh and another for the filter itself to the MAF adapter. Between excessive oil and the MAF adapter continuously popping out while tightening my frustration level was about 9 out of 10. It took me about an hour to get the filter properly secured. It's a damn filter Perrin. I'm fairly mechanically inclined....this thing was the ****ing devil.

Overall I give it 6.5/10 due to excessive oil and the installation being pretty bad.

I've installed about 20 of these things on numerous cars, it's not that bad man

Things I always do:
1. Blot off excessive oil with dry/clean towels/rags.
2. Spray degreaser on a rag and wipe the mounting surface of the filter flange to ensure it's able to grip the intake.

If it took you an hour, then you aren't very mechanically inclined.

You had to be there to understand haha. When you tightened either clamp past a certain point it caused the MAF adapter to pop out. It was a **** show.

The oil wasn't the main dagger...the bigger issue is that tightening the one or both clamps too hard forced the MAF adapter to pop out.
