Somethings in my intake

A while back I put on a cone filter onto the intake pipe. It is an OMG filter which actually bolts right to the MAF, no adapter.

While putting on my MBC, I had the intake pipe off and I was looking inside it and found what looked like to be oil or some oil looking substance. It had the consistency of oil, but did not smell. On the inside of the intake pipe (which is OEM) there is like a coating of gunk. This essentially has the ability to get into the turbo and I could see around the turbine wheel is was a light coating of this liquidy substance. I do not see any signs of oil leaks on the turbo lines, nor do I smell anything abnormal.

Any ideas of what this could be. I'd take pictures, but do not have the tools while away in school to get into there.

Could this just be gunk build up that the filter is not properly filtering or could it have something to do with the absense of an adapter?

Thanks in advance!
Cheers
