Auto Design

Another review just a couple of days after the last one. This one is for Auto Design, they sell LED bulbs to replace the factory incandescent bulbs.

Overall I give this seller a B+ or maybe even an A-, very good product fast shipping.

I emailed back and forth with Peter as I wanted the brightest bulbs (in white) for the Evo, but I was also curious if they made pink bulbs for my wife's Mazda3. Turns out they do, so I ordered all the interior bulbs, plus the license plate bulbs for my Evo, and just the three interior (dome + 2 map lights) for my wife's Mazda3.

Peter sent me a price and a Paypal address and I sent payment immediately. One small complaint here but no issues -- he asked if I could send it as a gift to avoid fees. I did not, and explained I simply had never dealt with him so I wasn't comfortable doing so. He understood and that was that.

I received a shipping confirmation with a USPS tracking number about a week later. Bulbs arrived 2 days after that and while not amazingly well packed were just fine. They're LEDs and they're tough anyway so no concerns there.

I installed the bulbs tonight, about 4 minutes total effort -- pop the cover, replace bulb, repeat. I wish I had taken before and after photos, but alas I have only the after photos. Color is great -- sometimes white LEDs are too blue, but no issues with these. I also tested my wife's pink LEDs in my car (I'll give them to her for Christmas), and they were bright and good looking as well if you want a pink car.

Overall a great seller experience and a great product. Asking for Paypal as a gift comes off as a bit shady, and really should never be asked, but otherwise a pleasant experience. In the future, packaging could be a tad more secure to give the buyer additional confidence, while I understand LEDs aren't exactly fragile some customers may not.

Edit: by the way these are half second exposure, no editing in Photoshop or otherwise, colors are true as the camera/naked eye would see them.

The 12 SMD bulbs in white for the interior.
6SMD in white for the two license plate bulbs and the trunk light.

Well I didn't send it as a gift and had a good experience. I guess I can only say my experience went fine but I hate to hear that yours didn't go so well. I hope you eventually got things worked out.

I am in the same boat and taking the hit on $75 because I sent it as a gift. He did send me bulbs but they were the wrong size. When I told him that, his reply was:

Im sorry, if you can please take put it back original packing and take it to the post office and tell them you refused to receive the package then they will send it back to us and Ill send you the correct one this time! If they still make you pay for the shipping cost thats fine, Ill refund you the shipping cost but make sure you get the tracking number too

Peter
Well I sent them back about 3 weeks ago, paying for shipping to return them. I have received nothing back and no response to the PMs that I have sent. The thing is, he even knew right after he sent them to me and he gave no "Head's up" or even bothered to send me the right order.

Learn from me, DO NOT send money as a gift - might wanna steer clear of this vendor until he gets things together.
