Forced Performance
Background information. hta 3582r turbo, purchased with ETS kit. purchased 11/25/11 from ETS. turbo install date mid april of 12. car make 500's, less than 5000 miles put on car.
Come around beginning of april, i send my turbo out to FP for what appeared to be a bent shaft, to which i had assumed would be covered for warranty (bad bearing)
I get a work order back around 4/16 we exchanged a few phone calls and emails about price and timing.
i was looking to get the turbo back as soon as possible.
I explained i needed the turbo back no later than may 5/1 for inspection/emissions.
i was given an upgrade to next size turbo up 3586. i did this because it didn't matter what size i went with, parts would be same amount of wait time to order, i appreciated the upgrade at no extra charge.
the one thing i specified is that if they could not fullfil my order, i would purchase a 62/35 and use my tial housing. (it costed the same amount for new turbo with t3/t4 flange) so i had no issues going with another brand to get it in time.
but..the invoice was paid 4/26
i was given a tracking number same day
the turbo was on schedule, until someone figured out that they had received the wrong turbo up in Canada. the turbo that was sent to me was called back i got nothing.
now, michael assured me hes doing the best he can to get me my turbo, which i dont doubt. you cant control shipping times, BUT, not only did he screw my order up on the turbo by sending it to the wrong guy, he also got my order messed up with the new oil line kit!!!
they sent me a journal bearing kit instead of a ball bearing kit!
big deal i didnt get upset, called him, he sent me another one, the right one this time. but what is wrong here is that TWO orders were incorrectly shipped for the same customer.
I paid TOP DOLLAR, $1350 for my turbo to be "REPAIRED." (seems to me as if he replaced the whole thing) and returned on timely manner, to which we agreed. I had originally believed my turbo should have been under some sort of warranty because it wasn't installed for a year, but purchased over a year. regardless that didn't matter there was no winning that argument it was purchased 17 months ago, i did ask for a discount though, to which i was denied.
what bothers me is if it was a few months younger, it would have been discounted??? makes no sense, obviously theres margin for forgiveness and customer satisfaction. would be a 100% repeat customer.
all in all, i still dont have a customer, i paid a lot of money, and now im past due on my inspections.
my vote to FP is negative and wouldnt go to them again, refund me some money or all of it, give me my turbo and make me happy.

I have not.
I have left a voicemail everyday this week since monday, without any answers/replies.
Received a tracking number today from Michael H saying my turbo should be here tomorrow (Thursday).
Still doesn't make me a happy customer after waiting all this time.

$1350 for a repair? What was done YIKES that a lot...
Seems like a lot of these companies are putting peeps thru the ringer with these repairs.
I get FULL rebuilds For a lot less here, with a full balancing.

If I were you for I would call tomorrow and ask for Robert and tell whoever answer its a urgent matter and you would rather not leave a message. It might take a few tries throughout the day but once you get him on the phone he will give you his full attention that's what I did.
Michael,
We screwed up there's no denying that there was a small error in shipping that caused two turbos to be shipped to the wrong people. Being almost identical in nature and being a rush job on both it was bound to happen at some point. I've told you as much in our phone conversations I haven't been in the office the last few days but I'll be giving you a call. I've done everything I could do to make it right including over nighting you any and all parts you required. I did not pack the oil line or inspect it before it went out to you the first time. I apologize that you got shipped the wrong thing but I did over night you the proper parts as soon as I was made aware there was a problem.
It might seem like we're just trying to make ourselves look better at this point but you actually did get a discount. That turbo brand new minus turbine housing retails for $2024. What you got was a whole new turbo minus the turbine housing for for $1350, that's $675off retail. Not only that but as we had discussed I went around my normal vendors and paid a lot more for CHRA's to try and make your dead line I guess no good deed goes unpunished. We did not charge you for the new compressor cover or any labor involved in the job. We made no money on this job and it doesn't satisfy us to have to charge customers $1300+ to replace a broken CHRA hence the reason why we pioneered our own BB CHRA's now that we can actually replace individual broken parts to instead of complete CHRA replacements.
So we're sorry we screwed up we really are, we very much wanted to hit a home run for you and get you the turbo before your dead line unfortunately a small mistake at shipping has let us all down. As such I'm willing to offer you an additional discount of $350 to knock the repair down to a flat $1000 in lieu of this mistake.

Mistakes do happen. Wow, I have never really seen a company put an offer like that on the table.
I have been an FP customer for many years and have had many FP turbos. They have always treated me right. I will stand by them for years to come!!!

See I told you they were good people....
You should edit the title of your thread
And I'm glad they hooked you up and saved you a few bucks it's nice to see a company willing to take responsibility for a mistake

I'm not completely satisfied, but I am much happier now than I was previously. I will re-evaluate my opinion when all is said and done.

That's insane customer service honestly. To see a company actively go on a forum and search through these threads and respond in itself is astonishing, let alone owning up to a mistake made and then offering money back on a repair is WAY above and beyond if you ask me. Hope everything works out for the OP and another +1 for FP in keeping their customer happy in my book.
