Battery replacement Recommendations for EVO X FE
Battery replacement Recommendations for EVO X FE
Sooooo. The parasonic in my FE crapped out after being stored in my garage this winter. We boosted it with my BFS corvette long enough to put my windows up , but it won’t restart now on it’s own which is throwing a “keyless operation service required” code on my dash 🙄
ANYWHO, I live in Canada.. northern Canada where the temps go from one extreme to another. I’d love to have some recommendations for tried and true replacement batteries that can hold up when the car is parked for weeks at a time. I don’t really care about price, I just want something SAFE and powerful lol

Keep the car on a trickle charger when you’re storing it. Once it’s charged they go into maintaining mode and won’t over charge the battery at all. I’ve had mine connect for well over a year since I’ve last driven the car. It’ll start right up every time and that’s on a mini battery, cars only insured if something happens to it ie... something falls on it or it’s stollen which technically is impossible from my garage lol. It’s not insured to be driven anymore.
As for a replacement, I had an Interstate in my car for years until I went to a mini battery, it still sitting in my garage, as I want to do a trunk relocation someday.
Both my 1976 MY Trans Am and Corvette run Optima’s but they are stored with a switch on the negative line to basically keep them disconnect all the time, both also on trickle chargers. Those cars may see 100-300 miles a year.
Also a block heater wouldn’t be a bad idea depending on how low your winter temps actually get in your part of Canada. Like if it sustains neg temps all winter long that’s what I’d do.
