Need some help/advice!!

Ok, I have an appointment at Vishnu this Sat for an x-flash. I have the Invidia turboback with stock cat in place and Injen Intake w/upper IC piping. I know some people dont like intakes, but I think it made a slight difference. Anyways, Im curious should I get a test pipe? Is it worth it? How much power should I expect to make with my current mods and x-flash? Also do I need to add a boost controller with the x-flash?

Later I plan on adding some HKS 264's and putting the car on the dyno for some custom tuning, which I know will make the car feel like a beast. But in the meantime, I hope the x-flash will make a good difference and I'd like to add the test pipe and boost controller if needed before the custom tune.

Any help is appreciated, I know I shouldnt say this, but im getting bored of the Evo, I need more hp, so hopefully Vishnu can help out (without breaking the bank )

Since you live in Kalifornia I would get the hi-flow cat. I think cops are extremely **** about emissions in California; so I really don't think it worth getting a test pipe. Plus I think the fine for being caught with a test pipe is pretty high; not worth the risk in my opinion.

Yeah since you're here in Cali, I would go with a hiflow cat. With your full turboback, and the flash you should expect to see ~40whp gain over stock, given that most evos dyno out at 200 stock and usually make around anywhere from 240-250 with a full turboback and the flash. Also, you won't need a boost controller with the flash. On another note, the test pipe will make a noticeable gain considering its freeing up a lot.

You do know shiv isnt available for a custom tune so we would have to do the flash here

Ok cool thanks for the replies. Would adding a high flow cat after the flash affect anything?

David, I dont plan on doing the custom tune this Sat. I was just coming in for the x-flash this Sat. Once I get the cams down the road, I would like to get it on the dyno and custom tuned.

What would I need for 300whp?

evodadi...If I was rich like you, I'd have the cams already

Chapter 8 thats it? I figured you'd be past that by now LOl, j/k.

Anyways, yeah 1 mod at a time, id like to see if im actually making a difference. Maybe I'll do the highflow cat and x-flash next, then we'll see about the cams.

Marcel, Im actually waiting to see what happens with you once you get it all figured out, that should give me an idea.

Stage 1 with custom tune from SHIV will give you 300WHP on dynojet dyno on crap 91 gas.

snoop....Yeah here in the Valley the cops arent too picky yet about exhausts, it would have to be really loud to get their attention, and the Invidia is pretty quiet. I appreciate the reply. I figure I'll just go ahead and get a high flow cat, which one I dont know. Dont some of them throw the CEL? So with the turboback, intake, cams and custom dyno tune I should be close to my goal? That would be perfect since I think im gonna leave it at that once I get close to 300. Once again thanks for the help guys

Oh...Question for the guys at Vishnu, unless someone else knows. How much is the x-flash with custom tune? I know on the site the x-flash is $395 but how about if I wanted it custom tuned for the car, or would it be worth it since I plan on adding cams later (just get it done then?)

IMHO ... get the custom tune after the cams. It's cheaper and that way the wow factor will be greater after you do the cams
