Hey Brian,
They'll tell you your MOS and projected schooling time in the last few days of MCT.. There might be downtime when you get to pensacola though since the schools can be backed up. I had to wait 6 weeks until I got classed-up.. Yay for PT every day and painting walls 5 days a week..

Then, after boot camp I come home for 10 days, and then go back to Pendleton for 3 weeks of MCT(Marine Combat Training) So essentially you could say my initial training is ~16 weeks. From there I go to my technical school which I'm told will be at least 6 months long in Pensacola, Florida. I don't think I find out how long my school is until MCT or something though.

make sure you get a good night sleep two days prior to your departure because you will need it! oh by the way, dont forget to say what's up before you leave the MEPS station. just ask for sgt. alcantara and tell them that you know me. i'll give you some last minute encouragement or "tips" on survive bootcamp.
Brian,
Good luck reaching your goals, and you have earned a great deal of respect. This is definitely a turbulent time to be enlisting, and I wish you the best, and stay safe. Remember not to push yourself to hard: I've had 2 friends get injured in boot camp this year.
