Do you guys know why it makes more power than our 03/04's ?? Damn this is irritating if mitsu introduced something new RIGHT after ******* releasing our cars.

I suppose it would basically amount to similar modifications that we as consumers might have made to improve performance slightly.. There's no reason to be upset by it.. just learn from it... This always happens though, you get the earlier model, and the later one always has things that improve it.. It doesn't change how much I really like my car..

am i not reading the dyno right? i only see peak of close to 210WHP (STOCK) and about 220 Torque. Seems like the torque is higher than the 03s by about 20 and HP by 10...am i reading it right???

then the 260 was achieved with 100octane, Xede. What was the boost level???

thanks!

Did you breakin in your MR yet If you want to go up to VISHNU and get custom tune on your MR let me know since I plan to there to get my stage 1 tunned also. You should make alot of power.

Excellent results! Any idea what causes the torque to fall off at around 5k? Oh, and when can I get one?

Why does everyone think the new '05's have new O2 housings? They don't.

Very few people have had an up-close look at the new housings, there are a few press photos of the revised turbine housing with the new wastegate flapper, and from those images, it looks that the flange for the O2 housing was slightly different.. However since someone just confirmed an 03 downpipe fit on his car, then at least it lines up the same way as the earlier car.

Since there are some people getting some better numbers with 05's over earlier cars, there HAS to be some revisions, remember, the Mitsubishi is likely seeing "What we're doing to their cars" and making slight revisions to make the future models more appealing, so It wouldn't surprise me that they have made changes such as slightly larger and/or less restrictive exhaust than what was on the 03/04, perhaps some cam alterations (no clue if thats true), obviously ECU revisions, several optimizations to the intake tract, etc.. All more or less what we as consumers would likely do to improve performance slightly.

What I'd like to know is if there are any revisions to the heads, camshaft, intake manifold, or exhaust manifold design.. since those are the components I focus on with my project car.

Shiv . . . could the mileage on the engine be a factor in the new cars making more power?

I assume that most 03's coming in with the hotside have quite a bit of miles on the car. Any significance?

Part numbers are the same. I've been trying to tell you this for quite a while now.

Agreed. There are differences. I have not spent any real ammount of time trying to find each and every difference, but for one it seem alot of people overlook the larger compressor housing that is also a part of the '05 EVO. The CHRA is the same as '03 and '04's however.

ECU part numbers are different if I recall correctly.
Camshafts are the same.
I'll have to check on the exhaust, but I bet $20.00 it's the same

Some of this I mentioned above. I will specificly check on those items when I get out of the hospital. (Got a spider bite on my face!!! ) Give me a day or so.

shiv said the ecu is slightly different... it has a stock boost cut capability(not stock boost level) of 24psi. IT DOES NTO COME WITH AN O2 UPGRADED O2 housing. it comes with the 10.5 hotside. this is whats resulting in the huge torque differences.
