That's what I thought too. But '03-04s with the 10.5 hotside don't do as well. Leaves me to suspect that sumthin' else is different with the '05s. We're digging deeper...

What's the A/F ratio like...compared with the 03-04's?

Since it is an 05, it has the bigger hotside. This accounts for the nice gains.

 

Has there been any findings about the suppossed revised cams in the new 05's. I wonder if that also might be true. Thanks for posting with these findings I guess Mitsubishi fudged on the 5hp gain for sure.

 

Yep.. I think there were other changes, possibly downpipe and revised exhaust.. But thats only what I've heard from owners who could directly compare the parts... The new Evo has a slightly different 10.5 hotside than the ones you guys have been swapping onto the older cars, it has a revised wastegate flapper, and the O2 housing and downpipe had probably been revised at least..

I don't have any other specs though.. (this is only information I've gotten from doing research) I can't wait to hear what the Vishu guys find has been changed..
