yeah well I did not get a serial cable with my XEDE, but i just grabbed one from work.

Tried but XUPDATE only allowes me to choose between COM 1-4. XMAP on the other hand allows me to choose from a large array of COM ports.

from what i understand you need to be running xmap anyways...xupdate is no longer used by vishnu i thought

I am using a USB serial adaptor. I had the same problem as above. All I had to do what rename my COM ports so my USB to serial port was COM 1. Easy as that.

Well guys i got the belkin USB to serial today, and well...guess what....It sees my XEDE after tweaking the settings on my PC and changing com ports to match it connected fine. Only problem i can report is real time data seems to be very very slow and not "real time" . Also when i try to download my current maps to my laptop, the software seems to not respond (though it did once, but i didnt know what to do), but Just wanted to say, yes it connects!

Those are the exact symptoms I have with the Belkin adapter. It connects, but is not terribly useful after that. If you manage to get it working I would be very interested to know how.

Will do, i probably wont fool with it much more since I wont be tuning my own anyway, I just wanted to get one to connect to view some stuff.
