While confirming the GT3's performance last year, I noticed the 2005 One Lap is staying in the East. Is Vishnu running again with Paul behind the wheel? I might be able stop by and watch at 2 of the tracks!
Ah - that would be nice to see

What do ya say, Shiv - gonna enter in '05?

the GT3 is THE street/track car to have, yeah.
lighter than the twin-turbo makes it more fun on corners.
highest revving Porsche engine....imagine the sound that boxer engine makes at redline!!
you drive this car to the track...let it loose on the track....and drive it back home...repeat

Shiv,

Would you post the graph of that GT3? I'd be interested to see it.

If you want a four door, four banger, get an Evo, if you can afford a Porche, get a GT3. What ever happened to the Elise? You can tune a piano, but you can't tuna fish.

So are you tuning the gt3 and getting more power? I love the 993tt, it is a pure timeless classic that I think will always be able to hold its own. Never the less, I certainly wouldn't mind all 3, but put the old body kit on the new gt3. But that engine is great. Guess I'll just have to finish tuning the evo, and then moer on to a 993tt and have you tune that too!!

Yep... looks almost exactly like what we saw on our dyno. Very lumpy and cammy with peak power occuring very close to fuel cut.

Porsche is making way more then 400hp N/A with the 3.6. the GT3rsr sprint motor used in ALMS races such as petit lemans is making 480hp at like 9,500rpms all race long (9 hours)

the GT3 street car is the funnest street car ive ever drivin. You could beat it all day long and it wouldnt even hik-up.

As far as how fast it is on the track. Stock for Stock its faster then the 996 GT2 street car. So of corse its way faster then 993 tt - stock.

TPC is making 380 to the wheels on pretty much stock gt3 street with there tunning.

A 04 cup car makes 372 to the wheels in its "stock" form. and those motors are good for well over 100 hours of pure abuse. Even 9k+ rpm zings.

with a good driver it would take ALOT for a modded evo to hang with a stock GT3 street. There just too awsome in the turns. The dang gears are wayyy to long tho. So there not very punchy.

In one-lap that was David Murry driving a GT3 that Porsche let him use for the event. He drove for porsche in the 24 hours of lemans in 98. in other words, he is a badass and the car was getting drivin as fast as it could go. Just couldnt have with the huge power, downforce, and tires of the tt 996 and the other car (dont rmember wut it is)

well i think i got a little off track but theres some info for you guys.

seems too good to be true with the 993tt....with just an Xede/tuning & 91 octane, the 993tt makes ~180 more trq to the wheels . You wouldnt think porsche would leave "that" much room on the table....on race gas, maybe but 91???
