no offense to anyone here but your client should look at GIAC (or other more established tuning method) not exede for his car that unit has been in developement for much longer, and some porsche tuners have 25+ years experince tuning these specific motors.
on second thought I would tell him not to mod that car they are reaching collector status and have re-sale value now quite a bit higher than on 01 or 02 TT, but thats just my thought process.

. You wouldnt think porsche would leave "that" much room on the table....on race gas, maybe but 91???

You wouldnt think porsche would leave "that" much room on the table....on race gas, maybe but 91???Of course most of this will take a 911 out of what porsche considers its safe operating range, this in an of its self proves the difference between a 911 and an evo, as porsche considers it safe with the way they build their cars to run them foot on the floor in top gear for a full tank of gas, think of what would happen to a 4g63 if you did that.
BTW what is the status of the Elise tuning project?

To each his own,
I was 1 when the first air cooled, turbo-chrged porche flat six came to market so I cant speak to tuning back then but with the amount of motorsports porsche has funded over the years I would guess there are a couple of guys out there who have benifited from the experience.
Shiv- any plans for mods on your GT3 or was it just a loaner you are driving?
This may have been answered. My dad has a 2002 996 Carrera that is normally aspirated.....would the Xede work with it? What ballpark gains would there be? I ordered my Xede for my Evo a week or 2 ago..can't wait for it to get here!
Shiv, I know you guys are closed for a few days, but who would I contact if I wanted to find out if my Xede has shipped yet? Its just good to know so I know when to be around. The UPS moron delivered my TB exhaust 5 houses too far down the street the other day and just left it there. That was "exciting."

Yep, Porche is great. I was talking to a buddy of mine at work on the last day of work before Christmas, he races BMW's and other cars, some Pike's Peak experience, etc. Anyway, it turns out he grew up in the the South Lake Tahoe area, which any good Northern Californian is familiar with. So we talk cars and skiing and he let's go on something his dad did one day, namely make it from Meyers to Kirkwood in 16 minutes, in a 930 Turbo! I sat there slack-jawed, thinking of all the turns and two mountain passes at over 7,000 ft. Usually, driving from Meyers on out, it is 30 - 35 mins, and that's the way I drive! Anybody who knows that stretch of highway can chime in on the fact that he had to hit 155 - 160 mph on the straight sections! Unfortunately I did not get a GT3 for Christmas, maybe next year.

My dad should be running a GT3 at some track events this year. He just sold his standard 996 and is excitedely awaiting the release of the 997 GT3.
We will see how my evo holds up against the GT3.
On another note, I found out not too long ago that KillaSweep and I are both Evo owners whos dads own porsches and we live about 2 miles from each other, not that anyone cares.
