Xede
Xede
Hello everyone,
I just got a XEDE this Monday for my 03 EVO8
.
Got it installed and log to my laptop without any problem.
But the car won't start with the XEDE in place. It kept cranking and cranking
.
Car would start rightaway if I take the XEDE out
.
I did try to burn a couples of difference subZero's and stage Zero's without any luck.
I have a Vishnu Standard turbo back system.
I hope someone will shed some lights on this problem
.
Thanks in advance.

Are you just unplugging the Xede at the plugs at the top of it when you are able to start the car or are you taking the harness out as well and reinstalling the boost wire?...
Details are important to determine a faulty xede or harness or highlight something completely unrelated....

I took the XEDE out completely and reinstall the boost wire.
I exam the XEDE harness very well and found no loose wire or bad soldering.
I think the XEDE may have to go back to Vishnu for an inspection.
But all the Vishnu folks are on holidays leave so no one response to my messages and emails.
Hopefully, by the time they return, I am still be able to return the XEDE without any
problems.
But still I want to solve the culprit now instead of sending it back and waiting for a
replacement. It may take weeks to do so

Hi there,
Go ahead and ship it to my holiday address at:
Shiv pathak
713 liquidamber place
danville ca 94506
I can check it out as soon as i get it and figure out what is going on. If something is wrong with it for some reason, I'll replace it asap and get it back to you. Probably before the New Year. Sorry for the hassle. Just make sure you include your return address and phone number since I wont have access to our shop records until Jan.
Regards,
shiv

Thanks, Shiv. I'll do that.
Right now I'm snowed in. We have about 10" last night and the Yoko Advan's certainly won't let me get arount to much
.
So I try to ship it out tomorrow, Xmas eve.
By the way, the flashing orange on top of the XEDE appears when I turn the ignition key to ON means anything?
Thanks again and especially thanks to Dyno4mance for the quick helps.

Try installing the harness without hooking in the boost wire. Sometimes people put the boost wire in the wrong spot, and the car doesnt start as a result. If the car starts with the stock boost wire still in the place, but the xede harness hooked in, then you are installing the boost wire in the wrong place. If the car still doesnt start in this config, then we need to check the harness.
Thanks for the tip.
But again, the engine won't start. I am positively sure that I got the right boost wire if it is the one in your website instruction.
About the flashing orange LED, I guess that indicates a trouble code.
There is no communication problem between my laptop and the XEDE but I think there is one between the XEDE and the car ECM.
