Got flaaaashed today

Spent the afternoon with Shiv at Vishnu.

My Evo is an ’03 model with nothing more adventurous than a muffler delete pipe. Oh, and brass shifter bushings (got to be good for a few HP??!!??)

Shiv XFlash’ed me and I’m extremely pleased with the results. The base line WHP before any changes was 210, which seems pretty typical. The post-XFlash was 240. This puts the crank HP at around 330. Shiv was the dyno charts and I’m hoping he will either post them directly to this board or let me have them and I will.

The car is a blast to drive and feels like the machine it should have been out of the box.

Thanks Shiv. Great to meet to you and great results.

330hp at the crank. I am glad you are happy but your quantifying skills are a lil optimistic. Were you a Works customer at one time. I would say closer to 320 crank hp. By your calculations my 390 whp would equal about 550 crank hp. I wish I had that much powa.

i agree 240whp is more like 315-320BHP, still pretty good for your mods

Either way, it looks like 30whp on 91 octane. Wow.

Thanks for all the comments guys. I'm happy for the crank HP numbers to be what they are - the whp numbers came from Shiv's dyno and I know we all place more faith in those!

One other point. Shiv gave me some great area under flatter torque and hp curves. He also let the curves drop fairly dramatically after 6400 revs. The reason for this was that I'd explained to him I use Xylene to boost octane every now and then. By letting the curves drop and not smooth them all the way through to cut out, it gives me an additional hp boost when using Xylene.

Now, no numbers on this but after a couple of runs with Xylene added, it certainly pulls harder through the top end of the range - between 5000 to 7500 revs.

Either way love it all and thanks again to Shiv.
