i would imagine it would run fine, might have a rough idle and you def won't get the power out of the cams that you would with a tune. i would suggest an xede or flash before cams, it will show a greater gain in power and driveability over the cams. for sure

ok, well i'm planning on getting an Xede soon, but i think i'm going to install the cams first..cant really wait..lol but as long as it wont mess anything up. From what i understand, the cam gears can really help smooth out idle. Thanks a lot for the input.

they will. but, if you haven't bought cams yet, you will see a MUCH and i mean MUCH bigger gain by getting the xede first. its about hte same price as cams and gears....then, add them afterwards...you doin it *** backwards man!

Totally safe to run cams without the XEDE. Just don't expect any noticeable power gains

am i right in thinking that the XEDE doesn't do anything special to adjust for the cams? it's the XFlash i'd want to compensate for those, right?

and i was thinking i'd get the cams, then the XFlash - shiv says you can run cams safely w/o the XFlash, but is it safe the opposite way.....to run an XFlashed ECU that has compensated for cams w/o the cams installed?

Shiv, I will be getting an Xede soon, but i won't feel any more power with just cams/gears? My friend Rocky, you know him (Puckadog)...he said that I should go with cams first then tune it, because i'd have to tune anyway after cams.
