Installing my Forge BOV

Hey Team Vishnu, I have a question for you guys or for anybody that can give me some good advice. I just ordered a brand new Forge BOV. Unfortunately it does not come with instructions. I was wondering which spring and shim combination would benefit my Evo. I am currently at a stage 1+, but will be upgrading to a Stage 1++ on the TT dyno day, so that means some high boost numbers.

Do I have to take the BOV apart to install the spring or does it go on another part of the BOV. Any and all help would be appreciated.

Also, I will give you guys a call tomorrow because Dustin has not replied to any of my recent PM's. Dustin, its allright because if you show up at the Dyno Day, you will be banned banned from drinking any good quality beer

I guess Smoggy is not bringing the beer. GOOD Quality beer and Smoggy is an oxymoron.

I have been using th yellow spring w/ no shims on my stage 1+. For a race gas map you may have to put a shim in there.

You have to unbolt the top to switch the springs.

No problem, I am just waiting to get some more input on this BOV before I throw it on. So far I like it beceause its black in color keeps that stock appearance. I will be throwing it on shortly and going for a test drive on my stage 1.

I am running a red with two shims. SURRRRRRRGE!

I will probably go to the red spring by itself, or maybe even down the yellow with a shim. I am a little paranoid about holding boost....can ya tell?

Go ahead and use the yellow spring alone. It will work just fine for a 91 oct map.

Yeah, but what about a high PSI 100 octane map. I have 100 at the pump by my town and I will run a tank full every other week...

Then run a yellow spring with one shim. Basically, you want the softest spring that can hold full boost. If you go too stiff then you will have a problem w/ part throttle surge.

It will be over 26 PSI with my 100 octane map and 10.5 Hotside. So far the yellow spring is working well, it almost feels like the stock BOV. Is the bule spring stiffer than the yellow...
