thunderhill track day fun!!!
I personally do not think that 2:22 was his fastest lap time that day....and he did not beat all the evo's out there, though he probably would have if he was in an Evo. Too much attention is given to lap times, and not to driving skill. Many of us are still learning, and only have a relatively few track days under our belts. Encouragement, instruction, camradarie, and attitude go a long way. I remember starting to race bicycles in the early 80's, and being a fairly big guy (190 pounds), although having good VO2 max and endurance (I still run 20 min 5k's at 200 pounds and age 43), getting my *** handed to me in my first races, in fact getting lapped in several criteriums the first year. Year two was different, as some very experienced and kind racers taught me how to train, pick the line, move around in the pack. I moved up to the top categories in the next two years. Then again, there were guys that became category 2 racers int he first season. Some of us who are relatively slow will not be so slow in the next few years, but everyone's progression is different. To that end I thank Robi (excellent suggestions and expertise, kindness and good nature), Shiv (for some good advice concerning how my car was behaving on track), Mike (Del Sol Guy, for the camraderie and good nature that day), and everyone else that has been helpful to me in this endeavor. I'll get fast eventually...I'm tenacious that way!!
Peace.

I dont really pay too much attention to my lap times, instead i'm focused on my driving and driving the line. After you get that down, then comes speed. The clip I posted was not intended to display my fastest lap time, it was just a quick cruise around the course showing what my general line looks like for others reference. This is not to show off. There were plenty of quick drivers in Evo's out there that I had to point by, along with plenty of Z06's with experienced drivers also.
Thanks for the kind words Percy, you're taking exactly the correct apprach to this game.

deno way teh del sol was makin 2:50 thats not possibel. the cavie was hittin 2:37 and the del sol blew by me as seen on the video. but the sol was faster than many of the evos out there. hey.. vtec.. what mods do you have in your evo anyways?
Not big enough...or I'd be driving a Ferrari! But, it's been fun. I have played with and or produced with, members of Living Colour, Guns N Roses, Swans, Material, Jazz Passengers, etc....it's been good. Have some interesting projects in the pipe as well. My "day" gig is psychotherapist though. No way Mike was running 2:22. My fastest lap that day was around 2:25 (very, very slow, I know, and I have run sub 2:20 at t-hill) by the crude method of hand timing. I was really struggling with my brakes (VERY crappy brakes by a manufacturer that shall reamin unknown, as they were freebies from raceshopper.com for being a test mule), could NOT threshold brake at all. Alsogetting used tot he sidewall flex, grip nonwithstanding, of the RA-1's...so, rough day...but fun!!

i ran a 2:08 flat, but only ran the timer for 12 laps total out of the two days.
i didn't have it set up for the first couple of sessions and a few times i forgot to
turn it on, then someone took down the transmitter later on in the day.
