we should let the vishnu guys chime in on this. Once they do, we could make a thread and have it stickied if they approve.

Do know that you use custom maps at your own risk.

Maps/risk/Vishnu

quick update:

Thanks Jeff for sharing your 1++ map. I looked at it and the difference between our maps is HUGE. Maybe it is very difficult at this stage to come up with a comon map hence the reason for Vishnu's decision not to post a 1++ and beyond map. For those that look at their maps a bit, the main difference with our maps is timing (Jeff pulls less than 2 degrees up top and mine pulls 4.1) Fuel (Jeff only leans it by 6 or 7 and mine leans it by 15 or 16). So basically the gap is so big I am scared to load and try without a wide band and the ability to tell wether the car is pulling timing on its own or not....In a few words, I'm not a tuner and I don't have enough money to pay for a engine rebuild I will talk to Shiv next week and get back to this thread.

Put your car on dyno than add the map. Show Shiv the dyno sheet and ask him what he thinks about map on your car

Paying $100 bucks to see if your car is safe is worth it since no cars are exactly the same.

yea.... i think we need to make sure the vishnu guys are ok with this...

but let me give a little forcasting of what would happen if everyone shared maps.

1. More options would be out there for the XEDE which means when someone wants to buy a piggyback, they would go with the XEDE just because there would be so many options of maps out there....(i know its excellent quality, but this would be a plus)
2. The guys running dyno's would see more and more cars come in more often because everyone would want to be trying new maps.... that they "got from a post the other night"
3. There would be more input on certain maps which would help develpment efforts...

Whats everyone think???

well, as i told sigfrid, those off the shelf maps are made to work for EVERYONE. the custom maps are exactly that, custom. But, you aren't gonna blow up your car, worst thing is the car will pull timing.

Why not small changes to your setting first. Don't try a huge change.

Wideband(60+ samples per sec) and "OBD2 logger for timing( somewhat, to low sample rate)" does wonders to check someone elses map. Now if/when V3 is available timing sample rate will kick *** (i hope).

custom map sharing

My butt dyno must be numb as I could not feel much of a difference between our maps. From looking at them, they look fairly drastic in fuel and timing but nothing. When I was getting my car dynoed and tuned last year it seemed that no matter what they did, the car felt the same and put down the exact same curve +/- 5 WHP. We tried drastic cam settings and played with the maps for a long time. Oh well, I guess there is a point to sharing tuned maps(this thread). It makes no sense to try maps and share if you don't know what the hell you're doing. Better leave it to the proffessionals. I hope Shiv will chime in on this. Thanks Jeff again for your help.

Anyone care to share a 93 octane map for the following (which I believe is a Stage 1 +++)

Vishnu Standard Exhaust (DP, TP, & Catback)
TME 6.5 turbo (10.5 hotside)
264/272 HKS @ -2/-2
Walbro 255
AMS FMIC w/lower IC pipe

here is my custom 93 map. i finally really got to compare it to the off the shelf 1+ map and its really not that different. i baselined 275 whp with the off the shelf map on a dynodynamics and got 290whp with this map.

i really don't see how though, its pulling the same amount of timing and running MORE fuel.

i don't get it

Do you have a upgraded fuel pump?
