signature exhaust problems?

I just had my turbo back exhaust installed and every time i down shift or let of the gas in a high gear on the highway it starts hitting something under the car. The shop that installed it on thursday, installed my 10.5 housing today and said it was the down pipe, and that it wasnt made so it would fit perfect. They did some adjusting but still no change, it even starts clanking in lower gears when i let of the throttle. The shop also said they have had to return other customers exhaust that had come from vishnu because of fitment problems in the past. Just wondering if anybody has had the same issue and if its fixable, if not was wondering if vishnu would accept a return since it has only been on my car for two days. Is this something that shiv can fix on the texas dyno day next week?

If they mounted the Cat or test pipe upside down it will push things around so it hits the tie bars, if not other things. Has this shop installed a signature exhaust before?

Mine fit perfectly.

the shop has installed a couple, but also said they had to return a few for the same reason. can i tell just by looking if the cat is on upside down. their reasoning is that the down pipe doesnt fit?

Try this thread for more info. I realize that the install is for a cat back but there is some full TBE info. Take care,

No do you have an ACD? There are special DPs for the ACDs (actually all will be phased shortly to the ACD specific exhausts) A few did get out that werent specified on order.

just to update, my cat was on upside down. Last night was the first night in a long time i didnt have to work late so thought i would give it a shot, and with the cat fliped over there is no more sound! i did notice now though, the exhaust sits on one of the bars that is connected to the frame, its not making any noise or anything so i think its going to be fine resting there.

thanks everyone for the help, i would have never guessed about the cat.

You have to use spacers to get the downpipe to clear those braces. That is your problem. I'm 100% certain. BTW, your exhaust comes with those spacers. I call them Borg Cubes...

Well if I have a RSR turbo-back from an 03 EVO, it should fit the 05 Evo fine right?

^ read daves post, 03 dps generally do not fit 05s due to ACD.
