Sig. Catback Installation?

I'll be taking the just-arrived sig catback to my shop for installation tomorrow. Is it completely obvious how to replace the old system or any advice you can render?
Thanks,
Doug

It is real easy to install. Just remove some bolts and lift of the hangers. Installation is reverse.

Even though there are no instructions with the exhaust it is a no brainer. If the shop does not know how to put that sucker on, I would take my business elsewhere.

alignment is key on this system because of the V band clamp....pay close attention to the balance wieght on the rear of the drive shaft as it can interfere with the V band under certain load conditions...

Also, most people install the cat backwards. If you look at the cat there is a certain section of the bottom part that has extra metal welded to it. Most people install that part facing up towards the vehicle thinking its a heat sheild. Actually, it goes facing down towards the ground to protect the cat from being hit by rocks and small animals...

Edit: That is if you plan on buying the full dump back exhaust. Sorry I forget people don't always buy the entire exhaust system.

Thumbs up TADA!! And thanks!

Catback went in today. Fit wonderfully except the cat's replacement gasket's holes needed some additional drilling. That and the very stuck stock nuts made me glad I'd taken it to my engine guy and didn't try it on jack stands. It sounds fine: deeper tone without the nasality that makes some aftermarket exhausts subjects to humor. No evident change in power on the way home and a little odor from some of the sticky tape stickem burning off. But I like the sound and may even risk trying to install the XEDE before the Chicago tuning day. You might just see another thread asking for gotchas on THAT!
So, thanks all. Very cool.

Doug, glad every thing worked out; however, now you are getting bit by the performance bug. The exede will give your car a nice new power band if you decide to get one. I went from stage sub zero, to stage 0+, and now I am at stage 1. It is nice seeing the power gain from each one of these upgrades. I can't wait to upgrade to stage 1+.

Doug, save your money to buy the VISHNU signature DP & FF CAT, you’ll definitely notice a difference in power. The quality is top notch.

You’ll enjoy it as much as I do.

Yes, and...

I did get the XEDE with the exhause for Stage 0 Sig. I've read the XEDE installation instructions three times but am still worried I'd pull the wrong wire and I'm unclear on which connectors go where on buttoning up the wiring harness. So, I'll have it installed at the Chicago Tuning Day or when I simply can't stand it any more. I got a strong recommendation from Andrew and Dyno4mance that the DP and racecat would be wonderful, so the signature catback will work fine. I guess that will be next after the XEDE install and custom tune.

Doug, if you're attending the Chicago dyno day ... don't bother installing the XEDE, just let Shiv do it right there and then. He can install it in ~5 minutes.

L,
Yes, I know you're right, but knowing that I've got this horsepower sitting on my desk is aggravating....

Doug, the install write-up for the Xede on vishnu's website is really easy to follow. All you need is about 10 mins, a socket, some electrical tape and those little jewelers screwdrivers and you'll be done. The only thing the website doesn't tell you is which way to lever the little plastic tab inside the connector. Using the most primitive ASCII art ever, here it is - the backslash is your screwdriver and the tilde is the plastic tab...get your screwdriver tip under the plastic tab like this \~ and then push the screwdriver down (lift the tab up) and the connector will slide right out the back. A good tip, don't try it without the right tools or you'll just bugger the plastic and if you're not good at delicate stuff, have a woman or a kid do it. Or, just call one of us who've done it before and we'll walk you through it. Don't let that horsepower go to waste man!

Yup, I'm not so worried about that, but I am worried about pulling the correct "light green wire", when there seem to be more than one on the connector! How do you know which is the right one? And, are the connectors really that obvious as to which go back to the ECU and which to the XEDE?
(yes, I'm screwing up my courage to the sticking point...)
Doug
(exhaust sounded nice on the way to work today; I'll push the beast a bit on the way home)
