Its definately R (retard), I just had them installed but Vishnu told me to set them at -2,-2. I am running 264's cams.

Well at first i had the car running at 0,0 which was alright you can feel it being a little bit lopey at idle, but when I switched to -2,-2 it felt better, I think it evens idle better now. You can still feel it being a little bit lopey at times but its almost just like stock. i been driving it for a week now and I don't even notice the difference in idle anymore. I am not going to switch the settings anymore, until if Shiv decides to switch them on the Dyno day in TurboTrix.

So, if I move the dowel hole in the opposite direction of the arrow in the picture, I'm retarding the cam timing, correct?

Thanks

ok...this is it....our motors turn in the clockwise rotation. In order to retard the cam timing the cam (center section of adjustable gear) would need to turn counterclockwise/left. The different brand of the gears and how they print the degree marks on the gears is what is confusing you guys.

Only difference between AEM & Vishnu gears is that the new AEM ones are Evo specific. I believe that the Vishnu gears are the DSM gears. I've had both - and both work fine.

You are correct the AEM gears have the calibration on the center piece and all the others are on the outside piece...this will confuse although the rule of thumb is the center needs to be rotated counter clockwise to retard cam timing
