strange noise?

Recently Ive noticed that at higher rpms (but not every time) I hear a noise that sounds like gravel in my engine or tranny, and no I dont live near any dirt roads
Anybody know what it might be or have had the noise themselves?

do you have a multi-plate clutch? I have the sound, but only since I got the triple carbon. I thought it was a thro-out bearing. but its not

Im still running my stock clutch with only 3,000 miles on it. I am putting down 326whp/311wtq do think that might be the problem? To much power for the stock clutch?

I would think so, but it depends on how the clutch is used. is is slipping! maybe your down to the nubs on the clutch, or you have an issue with the thro-out. my 2c. but i'm not a mechanic

Very true...before any major surgery on the tranny, try flushing those fluids. Good luck.

Do you have aftermarket camgears? If so, did you trim the plastic off the inside cam gear cover?

no im not sure, with my exhaust it makes it hard to hear. it only happens under hard acceleration.its not as metallic a sound as bbs in a can though.

I run with my camgear cover off.

Just because a "BBs in a can" sound is a sign of detonation, which could be caused by a number of things. Considering the margin of safety that Shiv builds into his tunes, I would venture to say it would either be very bad gas, or fuel starvation at full load. Do you have an upgraded fuel pump with your stage 1++? If not, your stock pump could be calling it quits...

Something u might want to check out Bro. What if something got in there Bra. That cover is on for a reason. Also out here Chevron has been really inconsistent gas but maybe not the case in ur area.

Yes I agree Shiv is a great tuner and he makes good power but leaves that margin of safety that these tempremental cars need. The stock ECU will save u with his tunes and that is a good thing.

Well here in ft. worth texas you cant get sunoco or anything cool like that its just chevron, shell, conoco, hell i cant even find a texaco any more. So what would you use, I just used chevron because of the techron, and every chevron around is really nice. The other stations arent as well keep, I know that has nothing to do with the quality of their gas but its just easier to justify that the better the station the better the gas (at least in my mind).
