But I can sell my 6.5 ti turbo and my newish Vishnu downpipe and get around $1200.
That doesn't make sense, unless you already have pistons and rods to go with the crank, or am I missing something?

Why wouldn't it be a daily driver? I've seen/ridden in AMS GT35 kits on daily drivers ... no problems there. You just need to have a pump gas and race gas map (unless you run racegas all the time) and unless you feel that you MUST launch at every stop light, rubber should be a non-issue.

That’s subjective point. The evo is not a good daily driver to start with and many people agree with me on this point. Having a Gt35r driven everyday in Cali is a hot spot for cops and $$$ for gas. You don’t drive a 600 whp car every day. Bit silly to me.

It's not 600 hp unless you get into boost. It's just a 2.3 liter pulling 120 when driving it mellow, and would drive no differently than a stocker.

Cops leave you alone here unless you drive like a nut or look like a gansta .

I say go for it.

Smoggy, you think about the car constantly. Have a little fun while you're alive. It's the equivilent of a vacation.

I said go for it too. I have lived in Cali and cops ask to pop your hood for no reason some times. Your car will get towed that same moment and your *** will be on the line. What about smog smogi? Have you thought about it? I know smog and I like the guy I am just trying to put everything on the table for him to help him out. I would hate to see him spend a lot of money with no results. Having a daily driver beside the evo is a must sometimes especially with that kind of power. Your car might break any minute no matter what parts you got. That setup will deliver over 450 WHP on 91 gas btw.

Mhyer,
There are a variety of smog testing laws, guidelines, etc. that you don't seem to know about. I wouldn't pay off a smog tester for a falsified certificate, that would be illegal.

Go with a standard 2.0 and a 30r with a .82.

I haven't made any final decisions quite yet. But I will have to decide between stroker or no stroker by tomorrow. But the good news is that I have the Fantastic Four all working with me and they are all invaluable: Vishnu, Tuning Technologies, AMS, and Benson's Machine.

Just to give you guys an idea, Alfred from Technologies got out of bed the night my motor broke and met me at his shop. Then he offered to give me a ride home passed midnight 35 miles away. And it has only gotten better since then. I swear they treat cars as if they were their own. They never take risky shortcuts and exude honesty and integrity. They also are enthusiastic about the project and are doing almost all the work themselves. They have my utmost confidence. Without these guys, this experience would have sucked.

Shiv doesn't like the big turbo idea but he and David have been helping me out finding good deals on parts and both have been very supportive and giving me great advice. I never believed that the Xede can't handle big turboed, high horsepower applications and I would love to prove the doubters out there wrong.

AMS just rocks. Look at what their 35r kits and their strokers achieve. I love the low profile of the Vishnu exhaust manifold on their stage 3s, so I would consider either kit. AMS has been great giving advice on which pistons to use and are working with Dave at Vishnu to help out with their various combos and their prices are very fair.

Benson's Machine is shop in Orange County that is renowned among those in the know for methodical engine building, balancing, and machining. Chris from Tuning Technologies is friends with Benson or I would probably have to wait 3 months to get my work done.

Ugh... We ran that on a 2.0 evo before and it was painful. It only came alive when we did a 2.3L on it. And even then, most of us still prefered the 2.0 with the 0.63 hotside.

The 30R-.63 would work just fine....but it maybe a tad smallish for Smogs strongly done EVO motor...if he wants low 11's.

Maybe after hes done we can have a race.
Loser buys .

I were him i would just stay away from stroker kits....but thats just me.
Go 40 over to a 2.1liter and call it a day.
