Shiv, what comes alive sooner the 35 r or the 3037 with the 83 hotside. I am hoping the 3037 with the bigger hotside. I guess my next upgrade path will take a different turn.

I talked to Martin at AMS about the .83 housing on a GT30R and he stated that all it does is add about 15 hp w/ about 500rpm of more lag.

Yep.. pretty miserable trade-off in my opinion. By comparison, a GT35R adds 75-100hp with a bit less than 1000rpm more lag.

So, guys, what's the opinion on a GT35 kit on a built 2 liter vs a GT35 on a 2.3 stroker?

The way I look at it, on a built 2 liter, I should have a 8500 (maybe 9000) rpm redline, which gives me a powerband from ~4500-8500+, whereas the 2.3l should do, what, maybe 3500-7500? Any thoughts?

It depends on what you consider as being the "powerband". Are we talking about full boost (23psi) rpm up to redline? With my GT3076 I reach 23psi by 4400-4500rpm in 3rd gear. I make about the same hp as a stage 1+ at 17-18 psi. I really do not believe that a GT35R will make full boost (23psi) at anything under 5000rpm on a stock 2.0L engine w/ no head work in 3rd gear.

My powerband is from 4500-7850rpm w/ my setup. I reach peak torque at 4500rpm vs a stock turbo that reaches it at 4000rpm (this figure is off a stage 1+ dyno chart from last Saturday's dyno day).

IMHO, I think a 2.3 stroker w/ a properly sized GT30R would make an icredible street/track/drag setup. Of course, If I had the opportunity to drive a GT35R w/ a stroker I may change my mind .

U think your runnin out of turbo Ron??...I guess that would be the next question.
Doin other stuff, won't gain you the hp desired when the turbos blowin nothin but hot air .

I know on STis, guys pick up 15-20whp with minor trade offs in spool...with a .82.
I guess the 2.0 EVO setups don't take as well to that upgrade.

Thanx Shiv and others. I am very content with my set-up right know but after I lay down that sub 11.5 et who knows how sick I may become. Car is running great and I feel at this time if I change to a bigger turbo I would be foolish. Rebuilt tranny and LSD should make my car perfect and capable of that sub 11.5 at 122 mph. BTW Shiv when is ur econo suspension package due to be available?

I dont think you would be foolish.....cause thats what you're going to need to be able to keep up with JP's SS.

We went to LACR on wed to get a few shakedown passes in. The car did "ok"

Yeah I heard a 11.8 at 121 on slicks with a 1.75 60 ft. Good stuff and I will race him at Fontucky if he wants to go for it. It will be close and you have to give the winner a hummer.

Dang Drew, you really have a thing for IE and his unit. Hey, can we get back on topic. This is supposed to about me.

BTW, I made my decision about my rebuild route but am going to be quiet about it until it actually comes together.
