Hey shiv i will have your stage 1+ with some goodies running your 1+ map soon. Any thoughts on idle performance and driveability?

FWIW, Ted B claims good idle with HKS280's with cam gears set +2/0.

I've had some HKS 280's in my car set at -2/-2. With my ported head the idle was very lopey; even with the new idle assist features in v3. Driveability was pretty good, but I did ocasionally get some very low RPM surging - slow parking lot stuff. On the throttle and crusing they ran well.

Thumbs up

HKS 280's will be easier to tune thatn the Tomei 280's since the lift isn't as high. idle can be tuned in though but will be tuff on a stock turbo.

idle is fine. its obviously lumpy but what do you expect. even running a simple 1+ map off the net they'll idle right around 900.

With the +2/0 cam setting, the car is very torquey, and I'm seeing about 30cm2 (11.8")vacuum at idle.

I wasn't complaining about the idle or "lopeyness" at all - simply answering a question. I'm just fine with a lopey idle as long as the car has good tip-in and low rpm response when I do step on the throttle, and of course no stalling issues. The HKS 280s with v3 and the idle stability turned on met all those requirments.

the sound of the idle is amazing... scares the hell out of people.
