what is wrong?
i got my Xede a few months ago and custom tuned when you guys were down at turbotrix last. it has been great except the CEL was on, which i didnt care about until it was time for inspection. I left the car overnight at mitsubishi so the mechanic could do what he needed to get it to pass inspection. heres where the problem comes into play. the good news is the CEL is now off, but the bad thing is that on the drive home, there was a big loss in boost. i drove back later in the day to show the mechanic, but then the boost was perfectly fine. later in the day, however, it dropped back down. i turned off the car and then turned it back on, and the boost was back to normal...... what could be causing this????
They my have reset the ECU. Sometime it takes a day or 2 for things to get back to normal after that. I wonder if they did the P300 reflash and if that would have any effect on anything. I would ask the mechanic what exactly they did to the car.
yeah that's what i do. sorry for not elaborating. i was a little pressed for time earlier. i put the key in the on position and listen for the fuel pump and other systems getting primed then crank it. good luck.
thanks for the responses guys, but if the xede doesnt initialize then wouldnt it no work from turning the car on? it seems to work fine when i first start it up, its just after a while then all of a sudden i lose boost?
well when it happens to me i am limited to 10psi. the car starts and runs fine just limits boost. so you're driving along hitting full boost then all the sudden not able to hit full boost? or never reaching full boost from the time the engine cranked? seriously i used to have this problem 1 out of 10 ignition sequences. i installed a remote status led and learned to wait before cranking.

how are you able to tell that there is boost loss? Do you have a boost guage? If you do can you post before and after readings? Otherwise, when it happens, try what the others have suggested...see if the Xede light is green or red....it could be as simple as a harness problem
good luck
good luck
when i start the car its fine, its just after a while i notice a drop from 1.6mmhg to about .8. my mechanic thought it was a harness problem, but this didnt happen until he had to disconnect it in order for it to pass inspection
so the mechanic disconnected the xede for it to pass inspection? sounds like he might've reinstalled it wrong. hell i passed here with a full stage 3 atmospheric wastegate and a test pipe. we just need safety inspection and obd2 scan. good luck. check to make sure everything is hooked up properly. could be the ground as your boost comes and goes.
