Whatever dude. That's the most untrue statement I've read in awhile. Even with the LSD, you'd need race tires to make the SRT-4 not push. They plow like crazy stock. Maybe an SRT-4 ACR with Azenis, but a stock SRT-4 will get ownz0red by a stock WRX with identical rubber on any racetrack with turns.

I guess the poll speaks for it self... you came here looking for the opinion from people and you got a majority (by far) vote to keep the Rex... and it makes the most financial sense for you anyway. Case closed. Now can we all leave this alone so the troll will go away?

STOCK-TO-STOCK

New rubbers = not stock.

And you obviously have no idea what you are talking about. I've ridden in both and the wrx has crap handling too. And an ACR will run circles around the WRX. I'm not sure why you guys cant accept the truth. You cant even conjure up any substantial evidence other then AWD > FWD. Yea, that may be true for the most part but that doesn't automatically make a car have better handling. AWD for the most part has understeer just like FWD.

LOL Yeah ok, i'm a troll now because I challenge the fallacious logic that people use. I never once was attempting to **** people off, I'm just trying to clear up this certain thought process that the WRX handles better than the SRT-4 just because it has AWD.

A troll is someone who obviously is just trying to **** people of by saying rediculous things about stuff he/she already knows it untrue. This is not the case. So, how am I a troll? No one can disagree with anyone here, argue a valid point, or prove a generally accepted fact as being wrong without being a troll? Seriously, think before you post.

And majority by far? Do the same on the SRT-4 forums, who arent biased towards AWD and see the outcome. 17 votes is not even significant.

re-read what he wrote.. He said stock for stock the the stock srt would get owned by any stock wrx even if they both had the same set of tires. Im not trying to get into the middle of this pissing match, just pointing out that you miss read his statement.

Because the SRT-4 tranny is STRONGER.
No it's because the WRX is AWD, hence putting more stress on the drivetrain. Which is why the EVO has issues as well.

How about track times that prove you are full of it, jackhole? Ever look at regional and national SCCA solo II results for DS (D stock) for the SRT-4? Oops, there are almost none on the radar. That's because their class is dominated by Integras and WRXs.

There's so many places you can look. Here's one: http://www.commonwealthgames.org/200...ss_results.htm
Ouch. 5 WRXs in front of the fastest SRT-4. Looks like your argument is going down the toilet.

Now kindly shut your pie hole and go enter a peg leg burnout contest in your Neon. Have you ever even raced your car on a track (non-dragstrip)?

me personally i would keep the WRX i think you would be realy dissapointed with the srt-4 AWD to FWD i dont think i can ever go back. now i know i am going to get raped for saying this. the srt-4 is quite a bang for the buck. i think that everyone can agree with that, and it is pretty strong engine, and to my best knowlage it responds well with mods. so me personnally i would go with the engine swap and make a beast WRX with the money you will save instead of buying a new car.

Thats great but means nothing. I am talking STOCK TO STOCK. What is hard to understand about that? It's not my fault the STOCK wrx tires suck.

You are allowed some modifications in autocrossing. I am talking stock to stock, the SRT is the better handler.

Skidpad #'s .... SRT= .84-.86g, WRX = .81-.83

I wont even waste my time finding slalom numbers but i know the SRT has a faster speed. Showing me a list of random cars and drivers to prove a point means nothing. Put the same driver on the same course with each STOCK car and the SRT will win. Better grip, better low end torque, less understeer.

Peg leg burnout contest (04+ have LSD genious)? Obviously you cant even come up with halfway substantial facts to contest my arguement so you resort to juvenile insults based off of ignorance.

Perhaps knowing that AWD drivetrains are likely to be abused more, they should put much stronger parts in to accomodate the type of drivers likely to be taking full advantage AWD has to offer. Something isn't "reliable" just because you drive it a certain way. I mean if you drive a car that has a redline at 6k RPM yet if someone were to hit 6k RPM the engine would blow, would you say that all those who blew their engine didn't know how to drive? And that the car is reliable, it's just the drivers fault? Don't think so.

If a car has a certain potential, then it should be able to achieve it's potential without a problem. Hence my analogy.

Definitely a possability, but I am arguing stock-to-stock. If you are saying stock WRX tires are crap, which enables the SRT to have better handling; then that is definitely possible. But once you put new tires on the WRX it is no longer stock which means it has no bearing on the arguement at hand.

So now the debate is over tires? You made an absolutist claim that a stock SRT-4 handles better than a stock WRX, and I’m calling you out on it, because it isn’t true.

What is hard to understand about that? It's not my fault the STOCK wrx tires suck.
What is hard to understand is why you are acting like a internet bench ricer. You might notice that I currently own neither a WRX nor an SRT-4, but have driven both on track (or coned parking lot in the case of autocross).

You are allowed some modifications in autocrossing. I am talking stock to stock, the SRT is the better handler.
And I’m talking about a stock class, not a street prepared class. The SRT-4 has a huge power and weight advantage over any WRX in D Stock, yet the WRXs tend to clobber them. Know why? Because they can maintain faster speeds in the corners; that pretty much defines “better handling”.

Skidpad #'s .... SRT= .84-.86g, WRX = .81-.83
And here we go with the rice math! Again, have you ever tracked your car? Do you think every WRX will replace their tires with RE92s and every SRT-4 will replace with KDW2s again? Your numbers have no stake in reality.

I wont even waste my time finding slalom numbers but i know the SRT has a faster speed. Showing me a list of random cars and drivers to prove a point means nothing. Put the same driver on the same course with each STOCK car and the SRT will win. Better grip, better low end torque, less understeer.
Better low end torque that it can't utilize fully in the bottom two gears because it has too much torque for its FWD drivetrain. And you obviously don’t understand what constitutes handling. While you are trying to show that BF Goodrich KDW tires have better grip than Bridgestone Potenza RE92, I’m trying to show you that even with rubber, weight, and power handicaps, a WRX will be consistently faster around more racetracks than an SRT-4.

Peg leg burnout contest (04+ have LSD genious)? Obviously you cant even come up with halfway substantial facts to contest my arguement so you resort to juvenile insults based off of ignorance.
The fact that you called me a genius and misspelled it is pretty darned comical. Well “genious”, your profile doesn’t list what year your car is. And I’m sure you know that the 03s were open diff cars, thus the peg leg comment. The 04 & 05 cars have the Quaife ATB LSD which helps maintain much better traction than the 03 cars could imagine, but they still have **** poor traction compared to an AWD car.

The core of the point is that you’re in butthurt defense of your car and it is obvious that this WRX guy should just keep and modify what he has instead of downgrading to an SRT-4.

I have neither an SRT-4 nor a WRX. I'm just making statements that are based on reality. You, on the other hand, are a flaming fanboy who can't see the truth past the colors and flag of his own brand. Have fun bench racing!
