installing xede and smart this weekend, hope the new instructions come!!!

Done with part 1, took me 2 and a half hours to get my stupid downpipe off in the driveway last night. a lift would have been nice. also had to brush up on my welding skillz, but got the bung in at least. all ready for xede wiring now!!

When calibrating the O2 sensor, do you just press and release the button during coast down, or do you need to keep the button depressed while coasting down? I would hate to try and tune based off of faulty calibration......

Just push the button for a brief period of time.

Don't get me wrong but the LC-1 manual is a good read that adds good information to the instructions already posted here. It's too large to post here so here is the link for people that don't already have one in their hands.

Thanks, but I did read it. The reason I ask is because after I had hit the button and was doing the coast down, the LED was lit up the whole time. The maual says that the light will be off, so did it calibrate or not?

It also says that after calibration you need to shut the car off for 30 seconds, not necissarilly easy to do when doing a coast down calibration, but if that is what I need to do then I will. Just want to make sure that I am not trying to set A/F's off of faulty data....

I didn't understand the real issue. I will go off and test it myself right now. Will post up the result in a bit.

Thanks.

I think that the manual means the light will turn off for just a second to let you know that the calibration has begun, I did not notice this until a little while ago, I was too busy looking where I was going before, I just know that it does not stay off during the whole calibration, and I still do not know if you should shut the car down directly afterwards...

Same here. Dustin, you need to add a "/" to the end of that link in your instructions. http://www.vishnutuning.com/secret/

Dumb question, but when it says " Tap the pink wire to the pink knock wire on the xede harness. This wire will be in pin 4 of the black connector." Does that mean we cut the pink wire on the harness....or do we just strip and tap into it similar to the red wire earlier in the instructions?

I not only read it as "and tap into it similar to the red wire earlier in the instructions", I did this on my install.

Actually I soldered a new pin on with both wires rather than patching it in.

Question O2 Bung

May be a dumb question, but was anyone able to have the new sensor bung welded in while the downpipe was still on the car..?
