Store Error trying to burn
I just tried to install my Xede tonight. I must be a newbie novice, took me over an hour to get it installed. Fired up Xmap2, loaded the V300 subzero map for 93 octane gas. Appeared to load OK. Showed a green light. Showed "connected" to Xede.
Uploaded map to Xede, then went to "burn".
Get an error:
Burn into EEPROM Store Error: Board no response.
I was able to start the car, but as soon as I tried to give it gas...it just bogged and died.
I had to put it all back to normal...I've got to have the car running to go to work tomorrow morning.
Any ideas?
I checked all my settings. Pulled the light green wire (third one in from end), connected the blue wire into the open space where the green wire was, plugged the green wire female into the brown wire from the harness(male).
The only thing I did not do was remove the pill from the vacum hose...which I figured I would do after I knew the Xede was installed correctly.

I got the error message twice. I tried loading the map in the "ON" position, and also tried to load the map while the car was running. Loaded OK, but would not burn.
I just bought the Xede, but I am not sure what version it is. I have a guess that maybe the Xede is a version 3. It does have a white sticker next to one of the input plugs that shows a black number 3 and a red V going around the 3.
So...that was what I was thinking that maybe I have to use Xmap3 and load a version 3 map? The only problem with that...and the main reason why I bought the Xede was to use the "already programmed maps" available from the Vishnu website. I don't see any version 3 maps for download.
I doubled checked my map, I have the correct map. subzero.zip (unzipped of course).
The only other thing I was wondering was do I have the two input plugs that come from the harness that go into the Xede on correctly? I plugged the grey colored plug into the grey colored slot, same place where I see the V3 white label.

well, unfortunately(IIRC) you have to use xmap3.2 with v3. what you need to do is get a v3 template and fill all of the cells with the "already programmed maps" values. Then load her up.
I didn't know they were sending v3 xedes without specifically asking for them though....but i could be wrong.
actually, on second thought, i don't think it would even let you upload the maps if you were using xmap2 to a v3 xede. so i doubt thats the problem.

I emailed Vishnu tech last night. I will give them a call today and hopefully they can resolve the issue. I was hoping it was something silly I was doing.
I wanted to go to the DSM Shootout in Norwalk OHIO this weekend, but if I don't get this working....I won't be going.

I spoke with Shiv today. I do have the V3 Xede and you can not use the Xmap2 program to load and burn.
I downloaded the Xmap3 program, and I see there is an "Import xmap2" field choice. Does this work? Is it that simple, just import a version 2 map and it will convert it to version 3....and I would be good to go?

You need to still manually convert a few items when you "import" the v2 map to v3. I'll try to find the link for you...
