Update on Creaders?????
Hello Vishnu crew,
I mailled my Creader on August 26th back to you. I have not heard since......Is it coming or what?
(Lets see how long it takes before this thread is answered. After all it's not about sliding poles for chicks at the new shop)

I just talked to Shiv about it less than an hour ago. They were told the batch they received would be Evo compatible, but they weren't. Right now, we're all just waiting to get some that are compatible with the car. I can pretty much guarantee you that when they get a compatible C-Reader solution, they will let us know immediately.
I have a Creader that is just collecting dust w/ the rest of my SMART stuff. If you need it bad to stop P0300, maybe we can work out a deal w/ Shiv where he can send me one at a later time.
Sigfrid,
We are still waiting for the manufacture to replace our problematic C-readers. If it were a sourcing issue, such as having a problem with a vendor, we could move onto the next, and replace all of the readers without a problem. However, the problem is with the manufacture, which means that we cant even BUY c-readers to send you a replacement at this point. Our hands are really tied, and all we can do is say sorry at this point.

Unfortunately, I got one of the bad C-Readers too. Shiv commented on it when we tried it out at the Dyno4mance tuning day but since my car had never thrown a P0300 before, I didn't worry about it too much. I changed my mind Friday when the dreaded P0300 made its presence known to me and put the car in limp mode. Luckily, I have another code scanner that I used to clear the code and keep on driving but I'm now keenly interested in getting a functioning C-Reader. I hope the manufacturer gets their butt in gear to fix this issue.
Dustin, who should I contact at Vishnu to make sure you guys know I need one of the replacements?

*Confused* I've gotten my CReaders via e-Bay. The first one I had was working fine then inexplicably stopped after a number of months. I ordered another and it's been working well.
What behavior indicates a "bad" one? I didn't even think about warranty since I assumed it was too short...
Thanks!

Generally, instead of seeing the -1- -2- -3- -4- -5- -launch-, you will instead see - - - -, than E. With the help of everyone on the forum, and my own testing, I found that the ones without serial numbers, and the launch in the top right corner are the readers that dont actually work.

so, i finally got my SMART hardware in the mail (no CReader included)...should i wait for them to come in to make the full switch to SMART??
I have never thrown a P0300, but i dont want to have to deal with it at all if possible
its no problem for me to wait...i was just curious

You can go into the SMART timing map and zero out all the positive 2 cells in the bottom two rows. There are also a couple of other positive values in there. If you zero those **positive ones only**, the P0300 will go away. Save the old map, though, because when you get a creader, you'll want it.
Good news guys. We just got word that we should be seeing the c-readers to replace the defective ones in a few days here. Isaac has a list of people, who have defective readers. You can confirm that you are on this list by emailing Isaac@vishnutuning.com
