v360 & v390 differences?

I am looking at these 2 base maps on the site and I can not see any differences for the life of me?

I just added HKS 280's and the fuel pump.

From what I read the 390 is what I need?

Bushcur 3" TBE w/testpipe
Greddy EBC (@19 for DD, @21.5 for whomping on it)
HKS 280s
Walbro
Hard lower IC Pipe

Also - can you clarify just exactly how you are supposed to implement map switching?

Is Map bank 0 your pump gas map & map bank 1 the race map? (as in both would be in 1 .Xm3 file)

Or do you burn the pump map, connect the map switching wires; then upload and burn the race map?

I would go v390.

The map switching is-
map switch lead not connected to each other (blank 0) upload the map. This will be your "Pump Map"

Now turn the car off. Connect the map switch lead together (blank 1) upload the race gas map. this will be your "Race Gas Map".

You cannot switch maps with the car running. The maps are stored in flash memory and the Xede has to load the map at start-up. So you can turn the car off connect the leads (or switch if installed with one). Restart.

I think maybe you can switch the operating bank (I do this all the time between 91/100 octane maps), but not the upload target bank, unless you power cycle.

I think there might be a power cycle involved the first time you are setting up the second map after a firmware upgrade (or something similiarly obtuse).

Ok, that makes sense. Shiv was setting up a new race gas map. On a related note, I finally ordered a set of keylock switches so that I can permanently hook up the map switching and the LC-1 calibration, wohoo!

Where are you going to mount them?

My RS is so spartan that practically everywhere is available.

I am bastardizing my ashtray to contain: LC-1 status LED, XEDE status LED, XD-1 gauge connectors, the two keylocks and a serial port. I'll post some pics when it's done. Just waiting for the keylocks to show up.

Too bad you don't live in LA, because I've been thinking about this but I'm electrically impaired.

Awesome idea. I use it for loose change, but I don't need loose change anymore because NM has no toll roads.

Although, that radio cover panel is looking kind plain with just two gauges. I should wire up an external xede led and LC-1 status led and stick them there.

Call it ghetto, but I just open my glovebox. I can see the wideband LED and the XEDE LED through the space. How are you guys datalogging? Are you using the Innovate software?

So can I, but it would really be handy to have an indicator light for the Xede
because sometimes I forget to wait those extra two seconds for the map to load.

I wrote my own software to do it. , but I'll refrain from dropping a plug for it here.
