Just so you guys know there have been some updates to the XMAP software. The new version allows you to copy maps as well as delete maps.
I downloaded V3.2 when SMART was released but there has since been another update that I never heard about. (Ver 3.2.0.7)
ALSO....The maps for the 03/04 cars have been changed. I compared the same stage maps from when first release to the ones posted today and they are significantly different. It appears Vishnu has decided to pull alot more fuel out and then yank a little bit more timing. You may want to download and compare the maps you are using to the ones that are the "latest and greatest".
I do have a question for you guys. I have been reading the forums and in several places people have said different maps should be used for drag racing and road racing. Apparently being WOT for 4 miles is much more taxing than being at WOT for 12 seconds. How are you guys dealing with the different demand/safety envelope?
Looking at these newer maps is kinda hard on the nerves because they remove alot more fuel then what the previous maps had me pulling out and the timing isn't that much different. Are the standard maps (available now) lapping day safe?

my 91 octane map (when i had stage 1 ++) was putting down over 290whp on shivs's dyno, and i used to road race it often. I have found the best way about it is to run a gallon or 2 of race gas at a track day and that guarantees perfect running. Remember that power output is well under what the 4g63 can handle for prolonged times.. its just that an agressive 91 octane map + lots of heat + long duration is not that great of an idea for longeviety. So running a bit of race gas makes it super safe.
So are you saying the maps that are currently posted are more of a drag racing map?
Also race gas is not cheap these days. How about I add some fuel back in? How much % would be considered adequate for 15 minute lapping sessions?
Lastly the maps posted today doesn't mean just put up today....it means the ones available today.

I don't think so. I compared what is on the web site today to the 93 octane '03-'04 map that I downloaded in early Sept and the fuel / timing maps are identical.
EDIT: What was posted today?

I liked my V3 map better than my newly loaded SMART base map. I'll see if I can tune it to run as good as the V3 map. If not than I'll go back. However, I'm only using SMART software and no hardware.

Not sure if this is helpfull but I run my Stage 1+ at the track with straight 91 (Phillips 66 which is equal to Union 76). I run very very hard (ask Shiv!) and have no problems at all and it's seen countless track days (41k miles so far). The trick may be, for extended track use, to run the car just a bit richer than you would at the drag strip.

what is the difference between 03-04 maps and 05 maps? I noticed that 05 maps have more fuel taken out and less timing being pulled. I have a stage 1++ currently and was thinking of trying out the 05 maps.
