Vishnu Mazdaspeed(mx5) vs Evo
My boss at work owns a 04 Mazdaspeed, and he wanted to see how his car would hold up against my 05 evo,
The first run he had an TBE, and I believe their boost stock is some were around 7-8psi. He dynoed at a little over 170 whp, and 16x.xx Trorque. In both runs my car had the Xede, mbc, and axle-back,

A little after he got his Vishnu Stage Zero kit installed(XEDE, injectors, intake, non-SMART), and when we ran the boost was at 13psi. He dynoed the car at 12psi, and put down 200 something whp, and 197 torque. Remember his car weighs ~2550lbs, in this run he said he missed 5th gear

In both runs we started at ~10mph; we went off his honk. First run I backed off at high 90s, second run is basically over after he missed 5th at around mid 90s(the end of our 3rd gear is the end of the mazdaspeed's 4th gear),

the race would have been dead even if you started at the same time it would have been even. you cant do a comparisson when one car starts before the other car. but that little mazda is pretty quick with vishnu mods. try the race again with both cars starting at the same time.

It could conceivably support 250whp with the appropriate turbo (the stocker will give up around 230-240whp). But that requires a fair amount of additional cost (new manifold, downpipe, turbo, plumbing, etc,.) And it will lose some of that nice quick boost response that it has now.

I was trying to give him every advantage that I could to make the run even; I had a full tank of gas, the camera person was in my car, and I let him get the jump. It was not about to prove which car was better; just to see how his campared to an Evo that had the same product (Xede).

My point was that a IX wouldn't have had the lag yours had, simple as that. I do give you my props for posting a video of you being beat by a miata on the web though, I would have never done it.
I'm taking nothing away from Shiv though, I think he's the the best in the business. I drove all the way down from WA for him to Tune my Evo.

Question: What is 'Brake Boosting'? Sorry for the OT.
