Make sure you run the proper click settings both on the road and when you get to the track (the car and the shocks are quite sensitive to even single click changes). Have fun and let me know how she goes

So the results of this thread up to this point are as follows?

1. There are no Ohlins available due to a supply disruption and there is no expectation as to when they might be coming in.

2. The price is still TBD.

If thats incorrect, please correct.

 

If have read that the price will be around $3400.

As far as the supply goes, I wouldn't hold your breath...

But then again I could be wrong.

Hey Paul,
Are your Perrin rear end links adjusted to be as short as possible? Comparing them to the stock ones, when the Perrin's are adjusted at full short, they are only about an 1/8" shorter than stock. Shouldn't this preload the stock swaybar just a bit?

 

From what I understand, it's more about corner balancing and making the necessary adjustment for corner weighting??

I must say - the more I drive this car "spirited", the more amazed I am

I recently got my Ohlins rebuilt and revalved to the latest Gerrard spec. I got them back on the car, it feels great, but I have not had a chance to push it because my current street tires are just about to cord...

But so far, the ride is acceptable on the street. You feel every indentation in the road. All but the worst bumps are easily soaked up and overall I am very pleased with the setup.

This weekend I will have a chance to flog the EVO in my next autocross round, I will keep people posted on what I think..

 

there is only preload if technically they are different from side to side, it does not really matter where the are as long as they're the same. That of course is assuming that the car is perfectly symmetrical (which it is not).

To check all you need to do is loosen one side when the car is on level ground and make sure the bolt can freely move in and out, if there is preload it will be bound by the sway bar tension even with the bolt loose. If preload is present of course all you need to do is spin that side up or down till it freely slide into the hole. Remember the car must be on the level ground at full running weight.

One other slightly off-topic but related thing that's worth bringing up is that the car must be cornerweighted without the swaybars connected.

 

Chris glad you like them, do me a favor and double check your click settings and make sure they at the position recommended for road use (including "fast" road use). Of course when you get to the auto-x dial them up to the recommended track settings

 

In other news, We are working on a new set right now. We should know in a few days if the new style ohlins are able to be valved in the same maner. If they are, then we can actually start taking some orders, but one thing at a time.
