Well...I got my car back from Auto Service and Performance in Hampton (local suburb in Pittsburgh). Ed Alo (mechanic) removed my hex wrench from the car which had damaged the crankshaft sensor, adjuster pully, timing belt, crankshaft blade and lower timing cover (my damn carpal tunnel).
Anyways...the cars cam gears are set at -2,-2 and the idle was turned up to 975rpms. It is running much smoother than before. I couldn't get it to stall driving slow, and stopping like in traffic. I'll have to run it for a few days...but it looks like a combination of adjusting the idle...and possibly making sure the tension on the timing belt has fixed my problem.
Thanks to Ed for doing a great job helping me out of a dumb situation with me dropping my hex wrench into my cam gear area.

You dropped the wrench in there and then drove the car?!? OUCH!
Next time try fishing it out with a magnet. If you get a big enough one you can use it on the outside of the TB cover.
Off topic question: Outside of the stalling issues....how do you like the 272s? Did you notice a loss of low end? Hows the top end?

As for the 272's. No loss on the low end, definately feel the pickup in the 4500 rpm range and builds from there...much stronger. The track of course will be the true test, but the local Pittsburgh track doesn't open until mid April.
I am hoping with this v390 setup to hit in the 11's. I have a test pipe to add. If I don't hit 11's with 94 Octane, I'll load the race gas map and put in some 108 or higher go juice.
Man....I am just balancing whether to do cams or not. I primarily road race and autocross, I cannot afford to lose any low end. I'm so close to just taking the plunge but then I read threads like this and worry about driveability issues.

Glad you found the wrench -- that's one that will haunt you for awhile! Hopefully I'll get a chance to come up and run at keystone (or whatever it's been re-named to) to compare our tunes.
note: I have 272's as well and love them. Autocross like crazy and I think the slight loss that might be found on a dyno graph doesn't really show itself in racing situations down low.

You can see my curves from stock cams to 272/272's here: http://tinyurl.com/aat6g
evo55 have you had anyone else look at your car? Being in the bay area you would think you could have a local evo meet to troubleshoot your issues.
I never hear of people with 264s having problems. I may just go that route. I dont run my car up to 7800 anyway. I would rather have a strong 3k-7k powerband.
