That's what makes it so great. For a tuner who has the right tools and is willing to spend the time to decipher the control scheme, the Motronic system allows for very precise control of nearly every aspect of engine operation.

Well, looks like I'm gonna be going with the APR. I especially like the antitheft feature you can get with it...

He's got an A3, same engine. I drove one, but the GTI is so much better as a sport hatch.

I'm gonna drag this even more off topic..

Does anyone know of a company that flashes Saab ECUs?

Yeah, well .. .it's the wife's car, so what could I do? It's not even a stick, it's got DSG... Oh well, at least I didn't get stuck having to get anything with a slushbox.

.. Well this one is actually a Saab Saab 9-3. With a "Saab Trionic-8" ECU. Can he still flash it?

A co-worker got one and now he has the speed bug.

IIRC, Adrian (AKA SaabTuner) knows a thing or two about Saab ECU's. I haven't seen any of his posts in awhile, though...

AFAIK APRs Flash for the 6sp manual is the same as the DSG. I've seen plenty flashed with no problemo. +I like how a chipped DSG feels

I'm not worried about the flash, hehe. I'll be able to turn it off and on easily enough so that my wife won't really notice.

So I got the Revo flash on the GTI and I have to say, if you own one of these 2.0t FSI motors then a reflash is a must. The dyno plots don't really do it justice. The throttle response is _greatly_ improved. It's really a hoot to drive now. I want to run it heads up against the evo on the freeway now.
