Sorry, Not feeling the Cayman, to me your only buying a name, especially when the evo can probably do everything better than the porsche.
If your your getting out of the evo, go for the all out muscle and handling, get the Zo6.
Now if you where talking about the Carrera 4s, that would be a whole other story...

BTW I'd go for a used 993tt as well but that wasn't the poll now was it
I like the Z-06 for sideways fun. Can you get a Ferrari 355 for 70k yet(?) It's a damn good car
Hate to tell you, but there is a difference in cost...
As ripped from the Porsche site:
"Performance
295 hp (SAE) @ 6,250 rpm
0-60 mph: 5.1 sec.
Top Track Speed: 171 mph"
MSRP
$ 58,900
and Chevrolet:
"Starts at $65,690*"
My vote goes for the 993 Turbo.

Even if you can find a 355, the tune ups kill you. The 15k mile service is just that, 15k. And if that isnt a big enough kick in the nuts, the 30k mile service is 25k. There is a reason people buy 911s instead of 355s.

On the 996 's they only made them on the Carrera 4.
I know all this because I owned a Carrera 4 Cabriolet before and I use to go to the Porsche dealer to test drive their cars all the time.
It is very very very difficult to get a 993 Carrera S, 2s or 4s now days, I want to say that the Porsche 993 Carrera S are perhaps THE porsche that holds the value the most..
Do you guys know that Porsche is the only car manufacturer that can brag all day long about having their 80% of their entire production cars ever made still on the roads? that is something else bro..

It is funny that we share same car tastes. Before I got my Evo 8 MR I was 33% splitted between a Porsche(993 Carrera or 965 Turbo), a Vette Z06 or the Evo 8 MR.
I think that sometime in the near future I will own another Porsche again, definately a used one and mostlikely a 964, 993 or 996. The Porsches are very alike the Evos. The suspensions coilovers, the brakes are huge, the setas are amazing , and the handle fairly well..
