corvettes are POS in my opinion.

 

Between the two....I'd go for the Z06 purely for the power over the cayman....I never presonally took the cayman as a serious porsche nor the boxster. Then again I'm obsessed with the 911 turbo.

 

I actually came really close to buying a Cayman S before I bought an Evo. The Z06 and the Cayman aren't that close in price. The base price for a Cayman S is $59,xxx, and the Vette is $75K. To get the Cayman up there, you'd probably be buying the Tip, and have it all loaded up with Nav, and all the other crap. I saw a sem-loaded Z06 at a dealer today for $83k. The Cayman will probably (hopefully) evolve into Porsche's fastest car. It's got the best chassis layout, and they purposely gave it a weaker motor than the 911, so it wouldn't surpass it in out-right lap times. The Vette, although is a lot faster, is made by GM, who's primary racing effort is in NASCAR. In my neck of the woods, average Vette Guy is just like he was 30 years ago. Middle-aged, Blue Blockers, Member's Only jacket, and black driving gloves. He's just like Harley Guy(hell, I'm sure he IS Harley Guy), in that he's into the "Vette", more than he's into the performance.
Porsche has been road racing since it's inception, and when I last left road racing, it was basically the only car (excluding six-digit Italian cars) you could drive to the track, run it around, and be confident it's still gonna be in one piece at the end of the day to drive it home. That was last century BTW

 

corvette gets down the road real good, BUT it's a rattle box & has that cheap azz cavalier interior!!!!!!!!!!! the motor is impressive BTW but nothing else about it is.

fit & finish are important since u will be sitting inside the car (not outside) while driving.

cayman looks nice vut reminds me of a Boxster with a roof as it is down on power. also from what women tell me, they like sports cars that are easy to get in & out of which is y women like Porsches.

bottom line:
1) if u want to go fast-buy the Z06
2) if u want to look good with ur girl & go 1/2 as fast, buy the Cayman


3) if u want all the above, buy a used 1996 911tt, or spend a lil extra & get a 2008 911 GT2...
