i really prefer to see how these these develop with my own eyes, and this must have been a doozy. it's amazing how fast revisionism distorts the actual events, and deleting the threads prevents any real forensic analysis.

some guy in one of the other threads about this actually referred to the bad blood going back to the "good old days" of 2003, and how "someone" apparently used multiple screen names to pose as customers to pimp his own company. another guy just last week had no idea that "someone" was a lawyer, or at least posing as one, as recently as, well, the "good old days" of 2003, before revealing his true, spandex-clad identity as Tooning Man....

i think i need to run a search on Alfriedesq, see how many of the old threads are left. all the really juicy ones were dleted, of course, just like this one.... but it'd still be fun to post a link.... maybe to nasioc, too.....

I have the threads saved as well. We're thinking about hosting them online for all to see. It's really speaks poorly of the management that Shiv is being made an example of along side with the likes of Dave and Al (who routinely crossed the line of decency, over and over again, with very big steps). If they want to say that this punishment is due to behavior going months back, that's fair enough. However, punishment should always be commensurate with the crime. That being said, why they ALL have the equal 2 weeks of "time out" is beyond me. I don't ever recall Shiv name-calling any other vendor, dropping bombs in other vendor forums, physically threatening other evom members or slinging out racial slurs. Yet he is being punished right along side with those who do.

 

let it go David, you know exactly why all of this went the way it did. you know as well as i do why Shiv got the timeout so as much as i respect your loyality, this is just not needed. and don't post those threads because they were deleted for a reason.

 

Hey faresest korean, Im korean too so you'd probably know what it is like to live in a west culture with some east customs within....but the whole Hulk Crazy has nothing to do with Al's northern stereotical attitudes, you dont call your customers that they are bunch of loser whether you are from north south east or west....

See Blonde, this is why I disgree with the management (yourself included). This is not about layalty. Let's just try to answer the following questions:

1) Did Shiv bash another vendor?
Answer: Not recently. And even when he did, he tried to keep things technical. And he NEVER resorted to profanity, insults or racial slurs.
Did Dave and Al? Yes, yes yes.

2) Did Shiv ever threater to physically harm other evom members?
Answer: No.
Did Dave and Al? Absolutely. They enjoyed doing that.

3) Did Shiv ever interfere with other vendor threads and self-promote himself?
Answer: No
Al and Dave: Absolutely.

Don't sweep these facts under the rug with blanket statements like "we all know why this happened". What we know is that all the threads have been removed from the visibility. But they have not been removed from existance. I have all the threads in question saved on my HD.

Do you really think Shiv conducted himself with the same level of indecency as Al and Dave? And if so, could you tell me when?

^ I have to agree on this one as well. I read the posts before it was deleted and Shiv, asked a number of times to move the thread or have it deleted because he knew what was going to happen.

I can understand why Al was given a timeout, but I think David & Shiv where given one was really just to make a point.....

This is the crux of the problem here. It seems like many people can't distinguish between objective fact and self-promotion. If objective fact self-promotes, it does so because it is objective fact. Until the management acquires the ability to differentiate between objective fact and inter-vendor bashing, nothing will change.

I guess that is subject to interpretation. I respect you man. But I don't have to agree with you.
