It's melted pretty good. So I'm guessing that the harness is fried. Guess I'll try to call them tomoorow and see about getting a new one. My fear is that the xede box is damaged as well.
I PMed you for your phone number, but didn't hear back from you before I left the office. (I waited almost 2 hours, and your status said you were online) Leaving the connected wouldn't burn the harness.

I pm'd you my number. I think like I said when I stuffed the wires into the dash it hit the metal where the ecu bolts up. Careless mistake on my part.

Right now an1 is pretty much static at ~13%

I recalibrated the LC-1 and everything else looks fine. The car still runs great, but I want to be sure. The setup say's:

"To verify that the wideband is work, rev the car, and watch AN1 to make sure you are seeing substantial changes in the percentages. Without the wideband input properly, AN1 will stay static around 49%. "

I don't see substantial changes, it stays at 13%

Dustin, any thoughts? I checked the wiring and everything is hooked up how it should be. If the LC-1 is out, which would explain why I'm running full rich, can I just use a non-smart map so it doesn't try to pull a/f from the lc-1 till I figure out exactly what's goin' on.

Also, on that note, how exactly do disable/enable smart? I've been looking around but can't really find an answer. I assume it's the map that you use? Thanks.

I would check your grounds. I have been on the phone with a guy, and he has been seeing the same thing, but after going through a bunch of wiring stuff, (he had some wrong) his problem is fixed. Make sure you have the white, green, and blue all grounded. The black wire from the wideband will go the red side of the LED. The black side of the LED goes to ground. Is this all correct?

Yes, but I don't have an LED.

My wideband install =
Brown from wideband - purple on xede (the update wire)

Green, white, and blue on wideband - ecu ground (connected to the xede black)

red from wideband - cig lighter brown wire

pink from knock sensor - pink on xede

black from wideband - one side of push button

other side of push button hook to ground when calibrating, otherwise it's taped up and not used.

yellow pin of the knock buffer - pin 9 on the gray xede connector
black on knock buffer - combined with all the other grounds
red knock buffer - purple on xede (the update wire)

Alright, I went and got an LED and hooked it in. No light.

I checked power, it's fine (the cig lighter still works and the RED wire on the wideband is connected to the BROWN on the cig lighter).

Triple checked all grounds (GREEN, WHITE, and BLUE on wideband are connected to the BLACK on the xede that has the ring on it, bolted to the bolt that holds the ECU)

I need to know how to disable smart since it's not gonna read correct a/f since the lc-1 is not working.

I'm leaving Sunday morning (7 hour drive) to Gingerman raceway where I'll be running Monday morning. So I guess I'm at the point where everything seems to run fine just not the a/f.

Sorry to hear that. Once I figure out how to disable smart I'm gonna run that way till I get home from the track then figure out whats going on.

I spent all night and today searching and searching and haven't found much. My fear is the lc-1 is toast, I really don't want to shell out more money for this.

I hooked up my laptop to the lc-1 and it shows nothing at all.

Wow -- that's so not good. I just received my Xede SMART system this week and installed it yesterday. The car pulls hard -- seems fine. Spent a LOOOOOOONG time yesterday trouble-shooting this issue with Dustin's help.

Like I said earlier -- i'm going to check the voltage from the wideband and see what i'm getting. I was told it should fluctuate between 0-5 volts.

Did you just get this wideband? When I was waiting for my SMART package I know that Vishnu was eagerly waiting for the widebands to come in. Could it be possible the shipment of widebands was bad?? (if this is the case, this is not Vishnu's fault). Anyone else recently receive a wideband? If so, is it working?

No I have had this since last summer, I just didn't have time to install anything.

I'm definately not saying it's Vishnu's fault, I know it's something I did especially since the xede harness fried because it hit the metal that the ecu bolts to.

The car pulls really hard throughout the entire rpm range and runs great, I'm very happy with it, it's just it's seeing no af/ reading so i'm thinking the SMART is trying to make corrections and it's going full rich at WOT. I guess that's better than going full lean

make sure you terminated the input serial connector on the lc-1 before connecting to a laptop.

Go to the threshold map and anywhere that has a number 40 in it, change it to -100. That will turn SMART off for you.
