It really is the fault of Ohlins guys. As I explained to Daworstplaya today, it really is a shame that we have to stop doing this. The product is awesome, but at the end of the day, we have engine management stuff that keeps us busy, and spending hours on end to track down parts from ohlins is something that we can no loner have eating up our time. Daworstplaya already has a set of shocks that we are going to valve for him, but as far as new purchases, we just cant work with ohlins anymore.

How about a "technology transfer" to some shop that deals with Ohlins more? Such as Motorsport Spares, Inc?

Or, if it's a lost-cause all together, publicly release the specs; or sell them for a nominal fee.

There has to be some sort of option here. Hell, I'll even take the info and try to make the revalves happen.

Dustin,

would the specs put together by Paul and Joe work for either of the following Ohlins coilovers?

Ohlins EVO VII/VIII/IX FLAG Series Coilovers
Ohlins EVO VII/VIII/IX DFV Coilovers

I had a lenghtly conversation with Dustin@Vishnu about everything you guys are suggesting. BTW Dustin appreciate your time and anything you can do to help get those revalves done.

The situation is very complex, Vishnu is limited by the terms of contract to get the work done via CSU although they own the IP for the revalves, which is where Joe and Robbie come in. Currently CSU has noone who can do the revalves besides Joe and Robbie. But both of them have moved on to better jobs and without them there is noone that can do the revalves. Now if CSU can't provide the people necessary then maybe Vishnu can persue and different shop/person for revalves but the matter with Ohlins USA isn't helping things.

I was assured that those who have purchased Vishnu Ohlins or purchased the revalves in the past would be able to get revalves done at a later time when things settle down a bit. Let's just say it will be a test in patience as Vishnu doesn't have the resources to spare to chase everything down. The possibility of selling the IP also came up and I was told that it might be something they might consider down the line to recoup some of the losses ... Sounded like they were going to pull some strings for one last favor for me, for now they just want to put this behind them and concentrate on other things.

I'm more than happy to be a resource to chase things down for them.

Discontinued?? That's not good... I suppose this will make the Vishnu Ohlins setup very very RARE for those who already have it... start auctioning them on ebay for $10,000 starting!!

I can't see why you guys can't send it to WORKS to get them revalved. I think WARRTALON had a buncha WORKS logos on them *hint* *hint*

Not necessarily discontinued but put on hold indefinately as people who work on it are busy with other things. I'm sure things will get figured out its just a matter of how patient you are. Who knows what direction this is going to take, people might get settled and revalves will resume like normal, or they may decide to find a different person/shop to do the revalves, or they may decide to sell the IP. It all depends on their contracts and resources.

Yes I did notice the lower control arm shock mount bushing being used on Warrtalon's car is a Works bushing (maybe because no other company makes one for the EVO?).

Whoever makes the bushing for whiteline also makes the bushing for works, they just make it blue. Same markings, numbers, mold patterns, etc.

I'm definitely not blaming Vishnu here, obviously Ohlins is to blame, but I'm just depressed

I was so looking forward to these. Anyone want to go in with me and buyout Vishnu's specs and open a suspension shop? I'll deal with Ohlins. Lemme at 'em.

If I had to guess. I'd say the Works Bushings are made by SuperPro in Australia..

I know how my car handles on the street, onramps, offramps, and curvy roads. It is just my opinion (so far) that it would be good for road racing. We'll see if I'm right when I get out to an HPDE.

I can also get works to do it (and they are near me as well, less money in shipping costs) However, Works is charging $400 for the rebuild, and over $100/shock if I want custom valving. the total rebuild and revaling through works could potentially be over $1k which is not worth the money, IMO...

I think at this point I will talk with Vishnu to see about any potental problems going this route, but I need to something soon or I will need kidney dialosis machine installed in the EVO...
