I don't know...maybe I'm not good enough to take advantage of it, but I'd much rather save 12lbs of unsprung weight for 20-25 mins of racing for the acceleration, handling, and braking benefits. I certainly wouldn't want to purposely handicap myself by purchasing stock Enkeis that weigh so much if I already had 17lb BBSs that are forged, stronger, and lighter.

The fn01rc is right around 19lbs. If you want an affordable rim that is lighter the RPF1 is your best bet. They're a great track wheel.

I was thinking about the RPF1 at 15.9lbs, but I guess it's Robi who says they get spoke flex. Guess I'll ask Paul about that on Wednesday.

I still don't believe spoke flex is an issue. I think the Evo Robi witnessed that rubbed the trailing arms had other issues. I have ran the RPF1's with Hoosiers and have seen many many people run them at road course and autox events. IF there is any spoke flex it would be from the 18" version running 285+ rubber on EXTREME cornering. I'm sure you've seen the numerous national level autox Evo's running the 17x9.5 RPF1's. They seem to love them also. It's the best wheel for the money.

I was hoping the spoke flex issue was more of a mega extreme case like you said (18s w/285s). I'll just have 17X9s (or 9.5) with 275 V710s, and I'm new to all this, so it's unlikely I'll have any problems. If the big dog SCCA guys use them, then they're plenty good for me.

Will you have to roll your fenders to fit the 9.5 rim/275 tire?

You have to roll the rear fenders to fit a 275 tire with any wheel.

I know I should search for this, but...I'm of the opinion that I can fit a 17x9 with a 255/40 tire without rolling the fenders. Am I correct or toking crack?

I know for a fact, with 17x9 +35 and no spacers:

Azenis 615 255/40/17 fit without rolling
Toyo RA1 255/40/17 fit without rolling
Toyo T1R 255/40/17 fit without rolling

One more:

Michelin Pilot Sport Cups 255/40/17 do not fit without rolling. Cheater tire sizing. More like between 265 and 275.

They have 10.7 sectional width. RA1s in 275 are 10.9 section width. ahha.
