You don't need a boost controller. That is what the xede is for, see if TT or Ivey can tune the xede for you and have the boost cut removed. If you can wait for Shiv to be in the area, then do that. If it is going to be a while then get the 10.5 hotside so that when he does come around you will feel a big diffrence in the top end pushing 22-23 psi with that hotside. You should have no problem beating an STi that way, I beat one really bad with those mods you listed plus a FP Green or Red Turbo (forget which one).

well im planing on buying a complete turbo kit soon anyways so i might just hold off on the 10.5 hotside. i wont be driving the car much in the winter so i will have lots of time to save up even tho i almost have enough to get what i want anyways. thanks for the advice though. if i see one for a decent price i might pick it up for the time being!

You want your BOV as hard as you can get it without driveability issues. So in other words, keep tightening it down.

Yeah, why is this such a huge shock. I mean it's not like STI's are underpowered.

yr setting now should be about right! maybe just turn a few more rounds to hard and set it there! as long as u dont here fluttering from yr turbo at part throttle let off then u are fine!

I beat an STI lowered on wheels with exhaust this weekend with much less then the thread originator has in mods; I don't even know what else he had done, that's all i could visibly see. That's why this is such a shock.

...there is no doubt that the thread originator has many mods which if all were in proper tune should absolutely kill most cars on the road...but seriously, I know some of you dont want to hear this, but the STi is still a fast car out of the box...and just like our cars with mods it can become a beast...

...sashin is stating the obvious...

i run mine slightly tighter than halfway and boost tested it to 23 psi without any sign of leakage.

Ya know, when people ask "what's done to it", often times I tell them "just an exhaust".

STi's are beast's and it is strange how they get as much HP's out of there turbos as they do...but tunability of the EVO is far far superior and much easier!

when did FP start making a "green" or a "red" for the evo. i am curious because the red is a bad a$$ turbo and both are bolt-ons.
