Baseline Dyno At Full Function ( check it out )

Car = Evo Ix Mr

Mods = Garage Hrs CatBack / Perrin Tp / HKS 2.75in Downpipe / Works High Flow Filter / GFB Bov / XFlash /

on 91 octane ( 76 gasoline )

Hello everyone name is Chris, just got back from Full Function for a baseline dyno and i don't know how to feel right now, maybe cause the dyno reads so low but it has made up my mind to buy a turbo kit lol. Now I realatively have the same mods as this other car in Shivs last thread ( 305whp on mustang dyno: Stage 1 EVO IX Baseline does good ) exept being my downpipe is 2.75 n his being 3in and i have a Works drop in. Looking over the two charts mines and his, he has 20 more whp as i dyno'ed at 285whp and 278tq and his car dyno'ed at 305whp. But then again I have more AVG. whp by 12whp and more Min. whp. But the high end 300whp i wanted to break into just didn't happen. But at least Sean from Full Fuction said my AFR is just outstanding I thank Shiv for that, well all in all it was a good day I baselined jus to see were i'm at hopfully i can pick up a turbo kit soon or maybe that 20g-Lt hahaha so many things soo little money lol well see

why didnt you just buy a stage 1 upgrade from Vishnu in the first place if you wanted to see 300+whp?

I was thinking of buying a different exhaust and have then custom tune but I might run into what you are, lower whp with supposedly better components.

Now I just want to wait until I can get the stage 1 on my IX and not really mess with anything else except a works drop in and maybe new intercooler pipes. I just want to see the numbers above 300 whp and I might even use the test pipe full time if it is not too loud for me to handle.

Yeah HKS downpipe is not 2.75, it's barely over 2.5, I had one on my VIII. The downpipe is overpriced for what it is. If I was going 2.75 over 3" I would consider the Tanabe blue TBE since it is a complete solution. You might be running into problems because of your small downpipe running into the large dia. HRS catback. I don't know anything about the filter but I don't think it would reduce your numbers. I don't think you need a larger turbo to get big numbers out of a IX, rework your part selection and retune, When I hit 322whp at Full Function on race gas my VIII pulled like a plane taking off in 5th gear.

If I could hit those numbers on a IX with the stock turbo on pump 91oct, it would be the perfect driving experience since you wouldn't have a lot of lag on the stock turbo and huge amounts of torque on tap as soon as you stomp the pedal.

The downpipe is probably causing you to lose some HP, but honestly your numbers aren't to far off. You dynoed on a Mustang, and while there are a large minority of Mustangs that seem to dyno like Dyno Jets these days, there still are a lot of Mustangs that dyno low. Full Functions seem to be a lower reading one. 285whp is probably well over 300whp on a Dyno Jet. Also comparing your car to the other IX shouldn't ruin your day, your car may just not be a sstrong as his, sorry these things happend. My car made 309whp and some IXs with the same mods on the same dyno, with the same tuner made 320whp+, just a reality, some cars are stronger than others.

I really don't thimk the downpipe is going to make any diffrence. Iam running the same dp and Iam at 300whp on a low reading mustang dyno, hitting 315whp on a high reading mustang dyno.

Yeah - I agree that the HKS DP isn't responsible for your concerns I think back to a buddy's car that always made more power (hp & tq) than other similar VIII's and he had the 2.6" HKS DP.

It's probably what 3000ways was describing -

Actually I figured out what happened last night last time Shiv flashed me for the Stage One v400 he had mention'ed that my boost guage needle was sitting a lil low about 1 - 1.5 psi under 0, so Shiv told me he had lowered the boost just to make sure it's not over boosting because on my original Xflash completely stock I made 275whp and 280tq but that was hitting 24psi on my dyno graph, now the car is hitting 1.5 bars, from what I tried to research here on the forum last night, people are saying thats about 22psi so if thats the case i'm 2 psi of boost lower than my original Xflash tune which is most likey is the biggest factory to why i'm not hitting the same numbers just a thought but i hope thats the case daymn factory boost guage lol. Well i'll sort things out with Shiv and see what I should do. Thanks for the clean replies guys.
