This is something that is just too difficult to test at the moment. Right now in CA E85 can only be purchased from a ford dealership in San Diego, which is about 7 hours away from us. Being that there is only one station, we wouldn't be able to test a variety of e85, to test of the system actually works as we intend it too. Hopefully Pacific Ethanol will get their butts in to gear, and actually get some E85 for the west coast.

Also, are there any concerns with running E85 with an in-tank fuel pump?

Thanks,

I was also trying to see who carries E-85 here in the Los Angeles area and all I could locate was a station in San Diego which is over 100 miles from where I live. Somebody told me that there was a E-85 station in Santa Monica, but I haven't been able to find out anything so far. It's just so funny that California brags about their strict smog regulations, but they are way behind in offering their own residents alternative fuels like E-85. I guess I'll put my E-85 upgrades on hold until we can get better availabilty.

How much boost did this car end up running with the stock turbo on e85?

Any update on this car?

Are you selling a conversion kit for flexifuel? Is it posible to mix regular fuel and E85 in different proportions?

Thanks

I ran 27 psi on my GT 30 with E85. I quickly added 3 degrees across the board and the car loved it. I'll finalize my map after switching out to a GT 35. When you can run 28 psi on "pump" gas, why go smaller. The only reason I'm not running more boost is I am still on the stock head studs.

I currently have an E85 station about 8 miles away and will soon have another about half that. My mileage has ranged from a high of 18 to a low of 15.5 mpg.

I have one at 25 miles from me, which is too far. But Soon Oregon will have all stations with E85.
And I jump on it.!!

so what would be needed to convert from a stage 1+ setup? bigger injectors and a new map... anything else? Also, does anybody have a map for this setup yet? theres a station a mile from work from me that carries E85 and I was curious on switching if it wasn't to much of a hassle and if the benefits were worth it.

I think it is well worth it. I magine running race gas all the time and you get the idea. For your map, you'll need to add about 30% fuel across the board. Like race gas, E85 likes to run more timing and leaner, so you'll need to do more than just add fuel across all cells.

PROS
1. POWER
2. POWER
3. POWER
4. Race gas at the pump for less than 87 octane

CONS
1. Limited availability
2. Bad mileage off-sets cheaper cost
3. Are fuel system changes needed for long term use?
4. Needs retune unlike true race gas where simply turning up the boost yeilds great results.
