3/26 Autoweek has an article on page 18 claiming a $750 flash from Vishnu creates the 400/400 numbers on a 2006 Evo IX. No other mods are mentioned.

C'mon...

Yeah, a misprint on their part. The car did have an exhaust.

And that's crank HP, which isn't really useful, because no one puts these on engine dynos, so it's all just a random guess.

Nobody ever said it was whp, and I wouldn't call it from a "random guess".

its obviously a random guess... unless they have something to prove it with.... who the hell measures crank horsepower anyways?!?!? 400/400 is too much... for just a tune anyways..

They claim it's Shiv's 2006 IX. Can we have the low-down on this vehicle? Documentation would be nice on the numbers as well. And why would a flash cost $750?

Thanks.

If the flash can make that much power I'll take 10, the package they have for the 335i BMW is pretty impressive though.

There was an error. 400hp is attainable by an exhaust and flash. Not just a flash alone. These days, crank HP is no more of a guess than WHP considering everyone uses different dynos and some, like AL, even use big fat correction factors to make them read higher.

But if he said whp there would of been world war III over what correction factor, what type of dyno...... there is no way to appease everybody.

edit-sorry for the repetition I posted what I did before I read shiv's words....

Thats way too much for just an exhaust and a flash - especially on 91 octane **** water they have in Cali.

So, does that mean that after slapping on some good parts like cams, intercooler, ic pipes, o2 housing, manifold he could get 450+hp on stock turbo?

Yeah, those numbers are really high... That means with what I have with my stock turbo, I should be around 450+ hp, more then any other vender? Please confirm... And also why the $750 price tag?
-Thanks in advance!
