Help downloading maps on the XEDE

My XEDE came with a stage one map when i only am running a subzero....so when i try to upload the subzero map....everything seems to go smoothly...key in the on position....establish a connection....click go...status bar pops up and says reseting xede...then map uploading and then says it is done...and the LED light on my XEDE is off...so i turn the key to the off position...then back on...and when i read whats on my xede...it still says stage one.....

What am I doing wrong?????????

also i forgot to add one thing....whatever port you hook up the XEDE to on your laptop....make sure you name that port COM1 or you won't be able to sense the XEDE...i tried selecting COM4 through the menus in XUpdate...but that didn't work....

I had the exact same problem this weekend, although I was not able to get around it by doing the above. I sent a message to Shiv, so hopefully he can shed some light on this. Has anyone had anymore similar problems?

Pretty much the same thing. When I try to load a map, it doesn't burn it to the Xede. The reset box pops up for a second and then is says Initialising... and then it says Map burn complete (or something like that). The whole process only takes something like 2 seconds, which isn't right, I don't think. Then after the burn, I lose connectivity with the Xede and have to turn the ignition OFF and then back ON to restore connectivity. It then shows the old map still. It doesn't look like the new map burned at all. Was this similar to the problem you were having?

I only managed to burn a map properly once and that was when I was messing around with the memory bank switching feature. So now, for some reason, I have the same map in both banks and can't overwrite either one.

yes that was the same problem i was having....

here is how i got it to work....
1. turn your key to the on position make sure you see a flashing yellow light
2. make sure the port you are connecting the XEDE to is named COM1 and go to the Xede pull down menu and select coms setup and make sure COM1 is selected....i tried this with COM4 and it didn't work....
3. open up the Xupdate software
4. make sure the info tab is selected and there is a connection to your XEDE
5. Go to the maps tab and select the map you want to download
6. go back to the info tab
7. then with the info tab still selected use the Maps menu at the top of the Xupdate screen(not the tab) and select program maps

that is how i got mine to work....i even tried it a couple times like that and everytime it worked....give it a shot...let me know

No such luck. I did manage to get it to burn a map once last night after messing around with it for a long time, but could never get it to work right again after that. It's very sporadic. So far I've been able to burn 2 times now out of something like 30+ tries. After a good burn, connectivity to the Xede is still there, but after a bad one, the Xede LED just shuts off and connectivity is lost until I turn the ignition off and then back on.

Hopefully Shiv can chime in here and shed some light on this problem.
