Stage 1 + cams and injectors???

Seeing that SHIV just returned from the great state of TEXAS I am assuming that I won't see him in DALLAS anytime soon. Here is my problem. I know that if SHIV doesn't personally tune my car I won't make 300whp with STAGE 1. Here is another problem. I really really really really want to use all VISHNI products but what happens to the preset cam gears I get with the stage 1 when I upgrade to 272's? All I really want to do to the car is Stage 1 with HKS 272 cams, injectors, upgrade the intercooler piping and the fuel pump. I want around 330 to 350 whp and I know with this setup I will get there. I am just afraid that without SHIV my local tuner, who is AWESOME with WRX's(JASON at FIS and has a 4wd Dyno) but has admitted that he has never tuned a EVO will not be able to get even close to the power that SHIV can. What the hell am I supposed to do??

It sucks man I know. I am in the same situation and will probably sell the Xede here soon due to this problem. I would have that guy (Jason at FIS?) learn the software, get in contact with Shiv (somehow) and have him do the best he possibly can. I think that will be your wisest and best bet. Just get he two connected and hope for the best. I'm also not sure the Xede will handel the injectors though. I have everything you speak of execpt the 272's and injectors, which I would like to do here soon also but I feel limited to gaining huge power by the xede. It was kind of like a quick fix for me. Great piece, great company, but limited customer service due to their ( from what I understand) huge back log and inability to respond to every customer.

While the XEDE isnt for everyone It is in no way limited by bigger injectors, turbo, cams ect. Why dont we try to get shiv to dallas some time? If Jason cant/wont tune the XEDE then what other forms of EM (that he admitted limited knowledge of the EVO) is he going to suddenly learn?

The XEDE will have no problem handing larger injectors. All you need to do is use the MAF/MAP trim feature. It is in the "features" menu. We're playing around with larger injectors now so baseline maps are being developed right now.

YEP!!

I love VISHNU and what they have done. Jason is very capable but I don't think as capable as SHIV(No one is) Jason took over for COBB Tuning when they moved to Utah. Jason and I have tried and tried to get ahold of SHIV over the past couple of months regarding the XEDE and the 272, injector combo but no luck. Vishnu is by far the best tuner and I really don't want to go any place else but I am caught in between a rock and a hard place. I would gladly pay for a flight for SHIV to come down to Dallas and tune my car but that kind of extreme and I don't know if he would do it. What should I do?

Damn

Jesus, did I just ramble on in that last post or what. This is what I am trying to say. Will a knowledgeable tuner be able to tune the XEDE as well as SHIV? Will they be able to get the same amount of HP as SHIV would if he tuned my car. Is the XEDE that freindly?

If I do the full stage 1 with 100 octane gas what kind of power do you feel I can get? Also I do not see a map listed for that. Once last thing, what if I have a map for 100 octanes and I run 93 in it? boom ?

Not smart at all running lower than recomended octane on a racegas map- I know what your thinking and you need to ask yourself it is realistic or not. The lure of big #s is great but are you really going to shavel out $5+ a gallon to run racegas?? Is it worth the extra 20 HP to you- Its not to me

BTW in Houston we saw 15-20 WHP over 93 octane and ~7-10 ft/lbs of TQ

I do a lot of track days and would run 100 in the car on those days. I was just thinking if for some reason I put in 93 and knew it right away would I be okay? Also if I pull the cat for track days will the car still run okay? I may just do stage 1 and quit because I am only a little slower then most cars and just need a little better top end, that is where I miss my NSX is on the top end peak power was @ 7700 redline was 8000

Also what SAFE mods could I do? Bigger FMIC? The reason I say that is because on days like today when it's nice and cool it runs SO much better, will a big FMIC give me the cool day even on hot days? Also it seems the raditor and oil cooler are fine for now. Any ideas?

i believe the new XEDE can have two maps stored in there. with a flick of a switch you can change maps. therefore you can have the "track day" map and a "93" map

man i wish we got 93 here...

Shiv recently tuned my stage 1 100 octane set-up.

281hp at the wheels, up from 234hp with stage zero 100 octane and ~200hp with just Vishnu sig. cat-back, no XEDE).

It's very nice.

FYI, those numbers came from our Dyno Dynamics dyno That would be closer to 330whp on an AWD Dynojet or Dynapack.

in more human terms, i leave ~20mm deeper an imprint in the headrest at WOT in 1st gear, when compared to stage zero.

shiv are you planning to offer reinforced seatbacks in a future upgrade stage?
