Can you in detail explain whats happening? I hear a few souls mention some idle problems in passing but no one has explained it in any detail. I havent seen it in many Xede cars and no one that I have talked to know WTH Im talking about.

Basically when starting the car cold. The car will be idling at say 1.6k rpms. Then periodically you will get a single stutter. As in the needle on the tach will fluctuate a little. Your can hear it and feel it in the car. Almost sounds like a misfire. Shiv says he knows the issue and will fix it.

Here is what he said in a post a while ago.
"As for the idle miss when cold, we isolated the issue to MAF replication stability. One of the things we do with the MAF signal is to filter out the short term spikes and dips in the signal. It's one reason that an XEDE'd EVO drives smoother than a stock one. For idle, however, there might be too much relative filtering because the signal is so small in the first place. We're working ona firmware update right now. Once ready, you guys should be able to update your XEDE at home with the XUpdate software."

He said he fixed it in this quote but it would require modifying all the maps which he doesn't want to do
"The idle fix is working just fine. Only took a couple of hours to revise the code. Only problem is that it recalibrates the MAF input which means that all the baseline files will have to be modified. This kinda sucks so we are working on a fix that doesn't require MAF recalibration. "

So basically I was just curious if they how found an end solution and we can load it in. Sorry for the confusion. Hope everything is cleared up.

BTW this is not really a big deal. More of a little annoyance for me when the car misfire/stutters every time I start up the car cold. After it heats up I am pretty sure it goes away.

I too get a small misfire during idle but only until it warms up. So far I don't really care because it is not bad enough to cause a stall. I figure it will be worse when I change cams but I'm not sure I will mind an idle problem for the improved performance.

Shiv, what is the status of the flash?

The idle fix is basically done. Only problem is that it totally changes MAF scaling so that the baseline maps (and custom tuned maps from dyno days) will no longer be appropriate. The software engineer is working on a few version of the firmware update that will not induce any rescaling of the MAF. You'll here it here first as soon as its done.

Um OK so this is manifested ad a stumble at idle? I dont see any prob with leaving it that way it might foul the plugs earlier but Im not so sure I want to loose my custom tune ya know Unless your coming to see us again over Chrismans break

You know this sounds like my car (stock). When I start up in the morning there is a "flutter" in the idle. Doesnt really seem bad, but you can tell its there.

Mine is pretty bad - before shutting down, I have experienced spikes up to 1500. This is well after 1/2 hr drives to and from work.

But for the most part, at idle, it dips quite a bit.

Last night my "Service Engine Soon" light came on and still there.

hmmm interesting. i get a small bump when i turn on my car if its cold out and my engine is cool. it feels like almost a rough idle. but i usually don't notice it anymore once the engine is warm.

Are you guys talking about "dieseling" when you shut the engine off? Is that normal? Mine is pretty bad and I am still stock...

No when I park, I usually let the car idle a bit. It is then that I have experienced the occassional spike .

When it is warmed up, it just plain idles rough - this doesn't bother me much .

Disconnect the XEDE and see if it is still there. We've seen a number of stock cars that miss and pop audibly at idle or heavy vacuum. This popping because more appearant when the exhaust system is opened up.
