My Stage 0+ Problem Update
My Stage 0+ Problem Update
It turned out that the shop who supposed to take out my restrictor pill didn't take it out. I was checking my hoses for leaks and found the pill unremoved. I took it out...now my boost is up to 12 from 11 psi. I think it may be the XEDE unit itself because I've specifically checked the boost control connection and everything seems fine.
Trouble shoot please...

This is a good example of why I always encourage owners to do their own work as they usually take the most care of their car when it comes to making sure something is installed properly. Especially something as easy to install as the XEDE. Clearly, there is still a problem so let's trouble shoot.
First, extract the boost wire from the XEDE harness that you pushed into the ECU connector. It is female terminated. Push back in the light green boost wire from the factory ECU harness. You can leave the boost in and boost out wires (from the XEDE harness dangling loose for the time being). Go for a drive and make sure you see full boost since now you are running on the stock boost control system. If this is the case, we can narrow the problem down to either the XEDE or the XEDE harness. But first try that

Cheers.

Next, join it up to the male terminated wire that is coming out of the XEDE harness. You can leave the light green boost wire (from the stock ECU harness) dangling for the time being.

Thanks for the reply, shiv...
First off...I think I have to recheck my gauge install because I can hear something leaking at my boost gauge where it connects to the vacuum hose. I am going to get some sealing compounds to seal everything tighter. Thus, it may be possible that my car is running higher than 11 or 12 psi.
REGARDLESS of my boost gauge...I've tried connecting the factory green wire back to the factory ECU. I'm STILL running the same boost of 11 psi (again, regardless of the boost reading) with that setup. I still felt NO POWER DIFFERENCE with the XEDE boost wire in and WITHOUT the XEDE boost wire in. In addition, I completely disconnected XEDE from my car. Again, I felt NO POWER DIFFERENCE with and without XEDE in.
Since my boost gauge is kind of wack right now, we can't really compare the boost amounts. But I can honestly say that I feel no difference with and without the XEDE connected in my car.

Make sure you have a map loaded. Is the light between the 2 big plugs green? Do you hear a tick when you go from boost to vac and vac to boost?

well he said he only gets 11 psi even with the xede uninstalled so I doubt it has to do with the map. It's possible that he has a defective solenoid since that would cause the same symptom (boosting about 10 psi). Szuchenevo: you can go to the dealer and have them test your solenoid. They need to connect an air pump and a battery to it to test it.

A-ha... Sounds to me like the shop removed the wrong pill. There is another pill in the wastegate vacuum line between the compressor outlet and the "T". If this is removed, you will not be able to get more than 10-11psi no matter what you do with the solenoid. Ask your installer if this pill was removed. It should not have been removed.

lol Shiv you are the man. Also do you know where I can get a wireing diag of the stock ECU with colors and pin outs?

Yes, if he's only seeing 10psi with the factory ECU and factory boost control function, then something is wrong.

Alrighty, I just talked to my shop about the pill. It turned out that we had a HUGE misunderstanding and they removed the other pill in the wastegate line. I will take my car in in the next few weeks and hopefully my problem will be fixed.
Thanks guys.

I thought so. Next time, they should actually read the instructions. Now give 'em hell
